How much RAM do you have?

Anyway try doing both things in the list:

-uninstal all java versions that you have, and than instal the last version of java (sometimes there are more different java's installed at the same time, go to control panel than add/remove programs (for win xp) to be sure that you uninstalled every version of java). Be sure that you uninstalled all versions of java, check all the programs you have installed. Also when instaling java if you use 64bit OS, instale java for 64bit system.

-update your driver for GPU (ATI cards have problems if the drivers are not up to date). Remember to check your self if there are new version of drivers, and not do it thru windows (sometimes windows will not check correctly if there are new drivers out for download). Also it is best to always uninstall the drivers yourself, and than install the new version (because sometimes updating drivers from windows can ♥♥♥♥ up a little)

If that also doesnt work, than find a crash log and post it here, or on their support forum.
Here is explanation where to find it, and how to post it:
