Towns
Tuts?
I feel like there is a lot to this game, but after playing the tutorials I am still left scratching my head as to what to do. It seems to me that there is a ton of game mechanics left for you to figure out, and I do really enjoy a certain sense of discovery (as playing minecraft on PC and figuring out new recipes by expirementing on the crafting table) but some things are more serious to the safety of your town, like troop orders that I cant seem to figure out. Is there some good youtube tuts I could check out? Or possibly the dev would update the in-game tuts?

The guides section has some decent options for tutorials I believe. Just click the tab at the top of the page and there should be some good places to start there.
definitely check out the guides here and at http://townsgame.com
I found the guides here to be an excellent starting point for getting the basics down :)
good luck, have fun, and be sure to check out the awesome mods available as well!
sadly the in-game tutorials are rubbish
I agree with post #3. They didn't teach me anything I can remember that wasn't obvious. I DO remember one telling me to do something and not telling me HOW I was supposed to do it. I figured it out fairly quickly. I'm saddened by developers these days falling on wikis to do what manuals should explain. (EDIT: Though it's way more acceptable for indie devs like the maker of this game to do so with their limited time and staff.) A pdf downloaded with the game would be nice. Some Steam games do this and have a link when you click the game in your list and on the right it says manual among the other things and opens the pdf when you click that.

I've heard what I currently think of as rumour that workshops don't produce as fast if they aren't in buildings. What counts as a building? Do certain walls not count as building walls? Do I need a roof? No one needs to reply to my questions, there's a wiki link on the townsgame site I'm about to check out. Hopefully that has the info I've been lacking to really enjoy the game.

TLDR: Please make a manual that explains things, with a good table of contents. I know it's work, and it will take time away from coding, but maybe when you get frustrated with the programing a nice explanation project will calm you. Pretend you're writing it for elementary school kids.
