I bought this game at full price as sort of a penance for previous crimes to other publishers, but that didn't cloud my views of this game. I had kind of enjoyed the first game, and so I was hoping this game would be almost as good...?
~It started out OK. The city you spend most of your time in is nice, lots of scenery, people to talk to, etc. But I found it quite easy to get stuck and remain stuck. Some of the puzzles just don't make a whole lot of sense without the walkthrough. For example: you cannot get to one part of the map without a bowl of peanuts that you shove into a mechanical nose. Sense made? Me neither. Worse, you spend the vast majority of the game in THAT CITY. Hardly anywhere else. That makes for a VERY slow game. Overall this is the slowest game of the series.
As if Rufus couldn't be more of a selfish dirtbag, the plotpoint of the first part of the game basically just cements the parts of his character I do not like: his complete selfishness and idiocy. Who gets the cheaper supplies and the lolly when it's a matter of restoring someone with the equivalence of brain damage to good health? Ugh. I hate Rufus.
The worst part about this is that you need this game to make sense of the last part of the series, even though it's by far the worst part of it. Only get it at full price if you MUST watch the last part, and can't wait for a sale.
