I feel compelled to review this game as it has been recieving alot of hate due to claims that the developer had promised more content and had since reneged, which if true is of course morally reprehensible. However from an objective standpoint i can't possibly call a bad game, quite the opposite. As a person who doesn't play alot of strategy games but has a few that are very enjoyable, i not only think this game is excellent but my favorite space strategy that I have ever played. The controls and interface are both simple and easy to use/learn, the graphics are excellent (for an indie game) and the diplomacy is amazing where you start in a neutral position and actually have options besides war for some races. The ship building is deep and complex and requires alot of thought and balancing. The whole game is exceptionally balanced (weapons, armor, species creation) and finally the races are varied and each have their own distinct personallity. If I have any gripes it would be that the "tutorial" doesn't really tell you much and there is alot you will need to figure out yourself (or google). I for one am looking foward to the sequel and also hope the developer has learned his lesson from all the negative reviews.
