(Solved) Vergil's Downfall (VD) Not Working (Japanese Region)
Update: Feb 12th and still no reply from CAPCOM. I'm starting to get angry here...
It is a shame how their customer support works...

Original post:
I bought the game last year including the VD DLC and it worked fine at the time, I actually finished everything from the main story to the VD.

But ever since last week, the DLC was missing from the inside game. I can still find it in the DLC property of the game (including the free DLC Bloody Palace) but everytime I start the game, there was no selection menu to select the main story or the DLC anymore, it goes straight to the save selection for the main story. The Bloody Palace worked fine btw.

I did not alter anything in the game, no modding whatsoever. I also tried everything from verify cache to reinstalling the game but nothing works.

I haven't seen anyone with this problem in this forum, so I think the problem seems to exist in the Japanese region only. Many reports can be seen in an JP forum 2ch (where everything is in Japanese of course). Many people have been repoting that the DLC wasn't recognised by the game although they had bought it.

More information about this problem:
- I can find the folder "DLCVergilsDownfall" in the installation folder with files inside (about 2GB in size), which means I have it downloaded and installed, it's just that the game doesn't want to recognise it.
- When you had a DLC of a game and you go to the store, you should see the word "You already have this DLC" or something like that. But when I go to the store of VD it didn't said anything like that which implies that I don't have the DLC. But as I said before, I do have the DLC because I can see it in my game property and the installation folder.

Maybe if I bought the DLC again then I could play it, but I don't wanna buy the same thing twice. So this is not an option.

I don't know if this is the problem with the steam account or capcom. I did reach to Capcom for answers but they haven't replied yet (it's been 24 hours now) I don't want a refund, I want this problem solved so I can play the DLC again.

I hope Capcom and/or Steam can resolve this problem soon.

Same here...
In fact, I never got my DLC worked on my PC. It crashes everytime I press a new game.
Anyway, I don't think CAPCOM would have a proper support about this.
Probably they will tell us to buy the DLC again.

totally same here.
- I bought main game and DLCs at steam(JP) at the same time, not activation keys from external shopping site.
- I could play through DLC on Oct 2013 actualy. But now unplayable.
- the DLC still can be seen on Game property, DLC tab
- the message "you already own this game" DOESN'T appear on store page.

昨年末のカプコンセールの時にsteamから購入して遊べてたんだけどなー。

とりあえずsteamのサポートにも問い合わせしてみる

Seriously CAPCOM or Ninja Theory should look into this. This is getting annoying. We're your customer, we paid good money for your game.

先月、↑の人と同じ回答をもらった。
この問題自体は1ヶ月以上前からあるみたいです。
起動すらできない致命的な問題なのだから、解決するまでは販売自体控えたほうがいいと忠告もしましたが周知の通りセールを敢行しているようですね。

この問題にどれほどの危機感をSteamが持っているのか?

知りたいところです。

コスチュームDLCはゲーム内でちゃんと反応してますね。なのにバージルDLCだけ適応されてない、せっかく買ったのにどうしてくれる…

でも仮にDLCが再表示されたとして、プレイできるのか?
最初にも書いたが、ホリデーセールで購入した人の中にはDLC起動でクラッシュするバグが既に有ったんだよなぁ。まぁ私の話だが。

現状同じDLC扱いであるブラッディパレスを起動出来ない人(これも私の話だが)はDLC復活してもプレイできない気がするんだよなぁ。CAPCOMがそこまで修正するとは思えん

So, CAPCOM is true BS. agree?

私もさっき75%OFFでVergil's Downfall購入して起動できなくて
色々検索しているうちにこちらの情報を見つけてがっくり。。。。
Vergil's DownfallをSTEAMからDLC購入して起動できている人って
いるんですかね???
自分の環境が特殊だとは思えませんが、
起動できている方が不思議にすら思えてきちゃいます。
