A question about game speed, and another about tractors.
So I've been setting the game speed to "real time" when harvesting/seeding, then setting it all the way up to 120x for my crops to grow. I've started to realize that this is basically cheating, and that using this method, there's never any need to buy more fields because I'm manipulating time, so that I'm harvesting something constantly. I was wondering what game speed settings you guys use. I'd like to set it at something (I was considering 30x but this may be too fast) and just leave it there permanently, to add a little challenge to the game, and give me incentive to buy more land/equipment. Was also wondering about "plant growth" speed.

Second question, I was wondering about the different tractors. I started a second game and gave myself 10 million dollars just to test different equipment out and experiment with how things work. When testing all the different tractors, it seems there's never any reason to upgrade to anything past the green/yellow Buhrer you start with. I was able to pull the largest plow, and the big condor seeder with it, without any issue whatsoever. This bothers me a lot, so if somebody can explain to me the purpose of every buying a more expensive tractor, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

for the time used, i think all the people use all the time when they need it, because it's a game an i don't think more of the people can have thepatience to wait three real day before to view her thing growing when you have one field, in the beginning it's easy to play whit time, but in the futur when you will have cow, sheep, and need more type of field (to give food to the animal) and more thing to do, you will need more time and surely passing more time in real time,

for the tractor, the tractor have different pounds, and if you use and old tractor they have low speed you will need more time to make thing, and by example the blue tractor can use some tools, like cultivator or other to plow the ground, the tractor can easily pulled one a side or the other and have misary to go in straight line, to be simple, a more big tractor make the thing more fast an more easily..., some other people can peharp say you more in detail...

More powerful tractors do things faster. From pulling plough to towing big trailer.

Even set to x120 it takes 12-14 ingame hours for a crop to be able to harvest. Thats 20 minutes of watching the grass grow because you only have 1 field.

I just like that New Tractor Smell. Just kidding. Any way you will notice a difference when going up hill with a fully loaded trailer. like going from the farm to the mill

I wouldn't consider time manipulation in a sim', cheating. I think of it as an important tool for game balance, early-game.

I'm playing on Normal difficulty and have found it essential to control time in the same way you have (120x/Fast Growth for growing after seeding - Real-time/Slow Growth for sewing). The only reason being that I don't have the time or patience to sit for 4 hours between harvests, twiddling my thumbs and doing the occasional repetitive mission, just to make a few thousand in profit each time.

As I am expanding, though, I find myself not needing to adjust time as much. I'm intending to switch to no more than 5x with normal growth speed, by the time I have a couple of harvesters and maybe 6 or 7 fields... I'm sure that by the time I own the entire map, Normal Growth and Real-time will be useful, simply to keep up with everything that will be going on.
