I have the same problem.

You have to use a plow and plow a new field out of the grassy area now. Must change it to create new field when trying to plow or it wont turn the ground.

Use Your Cultivator. It will remove it.

I have yet to get a cultivator to remove grass. Ive had to plow turning on the create new field option.

I planted grass on a couple of the Default Fields in FS 2011 by mistake and used the Cultivator to remove it. Now I have not tried that in FS 2013. So maybe that has changed.

grass is completely different in fs2013. planting grass over a field turns the field into grass, which is distinctly different then fs2011 where planting grass was more like a crop. once you plant grass in fs2013, the field turns into grass, which no longer acts as field. if you plow new fields over grass, that grass becomes field. the problem is, it is incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to get your original field boundrys back if you planted grass over the field's boarders.

i would like to see an option to automaticaly restore a field to its original boundries, but nothing like that exists. my workaround has been that when i plant grass, i only plant it in the middle of a field. i leave a significant porton of the original field around my grass so that i can plow the grass later without plowing over the field's boundries.

i suggest to ppl who want to transform their field into grass field, taking only those are close of cows and sheep, so you can feed them in same time

use your ploughs and create your field.

the grass actually has a pattern, like its a tile thats laid over and over. use this pattern to create nice straight lines.
if your field is untidy around the edges put your seeder partially over the edge and "hire help" to replant grass, he will create a nice tidy border to your field.

Just as a reply about using the plow, there's an extra step you need to take. I kept missing the toggle that only lets the plow work on fields versus working on fields AND grass. By default it was set for me to fields-only. Once I saw it and switched it, things worked the way I expected. I expect some others might also fail to see that switch at first.

so basically you have no other way of destroying a grass field except for plowing the whole thing? :(

there is a cultivator tthat will plow the fields. It is a Fendt GBxxxl. It is the same one as in fs 11 and it was called George Besslor or something like that. I have it and use it works great It also has a safe mode. I think I got it on

Pretty much. If you grassed a field to the edges and want it back, you can plow out the whole area, not being careful on the edges, then seed the edges with grass, go as slow as possible, either use harvest speed or if you use ESLimiter then set it down to 5-10%. And use a 3 point seeder (one that is actually lifted up by the tractor) not a tow behind trailer one. It probably won't be perfect, but it is damn hard to get a straight line, let alone a sharp corner, with a plow. Took me almost half an hour to connect 15&16 without overshooting.
