Sileage with Grass vs Chaff Grass?

Hey guys,
Me again, with another noob question. hehe
Is it true that you can make sileage out of just fresh cut grass, AND chaffed grass?
Why would you do the extra step of the more expensive equipment to chaff the grass instead of using just mowed grass?
OR do you need to have both fresh cut grass AND chaff grass to make sileage?

What is chaffed grass? Hay? If so, well, I believe so, yes. As to why one would do such a thing, well, say you have a loading wagon full of hay, and want to empty it... there you go.
It's kind of like, why would one plow a field in-game? You don't HAVE to, I don't think there is any benefits, I still do it (on autopilot admitedly).

I use chaff grass with this mod. http://www.modbox.us/farming-simulator-2013-mods/4245-claas-jaguar-900-cargopack-v10.html It is basically a grass combine that you can hire a worker to operate. I now only mow for hay. The only problem with this mod is the whole screen rocks when you hit an incline, kind of makes you seasick.

To correct this problem open the XML file and scroll down to camera's. On camera # 1 line after limit="true" type useWorldXZRotation="true" close and save. This can be used on 90 % of the driveables in this game.
