largest capacity combine?
I'm trying to find the largest grain capacity combine, been looking through different mods. Does anyone have any idea which one holds the most?

It depends on how much realism your looking for ... any combine can be edited to have a grain tank as large as you want.

If you unzip the combine into its base folders and open an .xml file named after your combine.
For example if your combine is a JD9750STS then the .xml file will be called jd9750sts.xml.

Once you have opened this file search for 2 lines of code as follows :

<grainTankCapacity>14000</grainTankCapacity>
<grainTankUnloadingCapacity>650</grainTankUnloadingCapacity>

The first number in this case is 14000 ... thats the actual capacity of the grain tank so adding a zero ( 140000 ) now increases the grain tank capacity to one hundred and forty thousand liters.
You can set this number to be anything you want.

The second line is the speed at which the combine unloads into a trailer ... if you are increasing the capacity then also increase this number a small bit aswell otherwise unloading will take ages. For a 100000 Liter grain tank 1500 unloading would probs be about right.

Sounds like an editing error ... combines usually give notice when they reach 80% full and extend the unloading pipe. The fact that yours starts going again at 80% empty could mean a line in the code for the combine is effectively backwards.

Great info thanks. Might not be realistic but could help with managing super huge maps/fields.

yeah that John Deere combine must have a glitch in it cause it only unloads to 80% before folding up the auger and continuing on. It doesn't unload on the go either unless the auger is already out.

just for the heck of it I tried to change the combine capacity. I found the xml file and found the (<grainTankCapacity>20000</grainTankCapacity> <grainTankUnloadingCapacity>500</grainTankUnloadingCapacity)

but it won't allow me to change anything, what am I doin wrong?

you have to extract it, make the changes, then zip it back up.

gotcha thank you

Was trying that earlier as well, but couldn't remember how to get it zipped up WITHOUT creating a new folder for it? Kept zipping it under a new folder inside the existing one.
braindead...sorry hehe

The standard combine potatoes harvester that come with the game does exactly the same thing, so I have to park the trailer right, and then rush out of the truck to stand in front of it so it won't go. Pretty annoying on a big field. So it mght not be the mod's fault here.

thank you for the info, you wouldn't know how to make the head bigger for that combine :)

Thats a little bit more complicated since it requires the actual model to be resized but i have seen a few very large headers around that would probs fit that combine so i'll have a look and post a link if i find one.
