Kerbal Space Program
Curse a curse??
I was wondering if anyone else is upset with the commercialization of the modding community by moving it to curse.com?? I myself don't even do mods anymore, can't stand the site, the bombardment of advertisments and the fact that those ads have more screen space than the mods I am looking for. I won't suggest or say the "W" word since its clear thats like running into a naacp meeting and yelling the "N" word around here but there had to be a better way, curse.com simply sucks imho.

hmm. i use addblock. I was on the curse website one time now, and had no feeling about bombarding of ads. Downloading worked, no problem for me, almost like spaceport.

As long as you dont have to pay something on the site, everything is ok.
@Van I am glad your happy with it, I am wondering if others feel the same as I. Don't need a rebuttal to what I said cause it's not going to change my mind. Any ad is too many ads in my opinion. Any site that has a "premium" service is a place I want to avoid.
well, maybe addblock filters all the "bad" of curse out. i dont know.
I have maybe 3 adds on the main page and 2 adds when I click a mod. No problems here and I don't use addblock.

what?? squad is too the game dev. and they didn't need a publisher. so i don't know what you mean
Yeah, I knew KSP before it was cool. How dare they to sell out by partnering with a professional mod hosting. Wait for the day they start charging for our Mechjebz.

By the way, you know Steam takes a part of their benefits, right?

I'm glad they moved to Curse. Spaceport was crap. The search function sucked (you could search "MechJeb" and you'd get 2 pages of mods that have nothing to do with mechjeb and the actual mechjeb mod would be on the 3rd page, the first 2 pages of mods didn't have mechjeb anywhere in the title or description), 90% of the mods were categorized incorrectly, mods were rarely kept up-to-date and sometimes instead of updating the mod's original page you'd have to find the new page for the mod when trying to update.

Spaceport was just a mess and discovery was horrible. The only way to find the halfway decent mods was through the top mods section but that section almost never changed for months at a time and you couldn't search top mods of the week, month or all time. For now Curse has been a huge improvement over Spaceport in all respects. As for ads, who doesn't use adblock these days? Adblock is basically the first thing I always install when I use a new browser.

IKR? I mean KerbalSpacePort was the best place to go for mods. Now I can't stand curse and I have to use the KSP fourms

The 'w' word? Wang-dang-doodle? Did you have to make it racist as well as shortsighted? I'm just going to walk away and play KSP now and leave this thread to self destruct.

Squad are primarily a Marketing company. That was and is their business. One of their employees had a vision to develope a game and tried to leave the company due to feeling over burdened with the pressure there. When he phoned in to quit, one of the bosses told him to take a day off then come in and they'd talk. The outcome was the company funding his dream.

Read about it here[www.polygon.com].
