Windowed mode steals focus, can we task switch?

I'm loving having this game on Linux, got a question about casual play style. I like to play windowed with other apps going on in the background (chat, web etc). I'm finding that The Journey Down steals keyboard and mouse focus, so we cannot move the mouse out or alt-tab to another application. When I see someone message me in another window I have to save, quit, deal with the chat, then run the game again. Clearly not optimal.

Anyone got any advice or other experience to share? Can anyone else alt-tab with ease?

Just confirming my problem would be nice, to see who else is affected.

I'm on Fedora Core 17 running Xfce4.

Aha! Shift-tab, to access the Steam on-screen menus, un-steals the mouse focus. I did it just now to be able to post this with the game still running in its window.

Hurrah.
