Is this a season pass, or just one chapter?
Does buying this just give one episode, or is it like a season pass type of deal, like The Dream Machine and The Walking Dead.

I believe it is just Chapter One for now. Think there may be a bundle when all 4 chapters are released. Which won't be for a long time yet. If you like point n click it's worth a look though.

Was...was that Antfish at the beginning, voicing the hat guy?

You buy this episode, and you get this episode and nothing else. At least that's what I think our business model is. :)

Antfish does the voice of both the goons, as well as the main character "Bwana". Fun you noticed. :) Where have you heard him before?

Game looks interesting, but: A price of 6€ discounted seems quite steep for one episode. How many episodes will there be, and how long will they be? Thanks!
theowaern  [dezvoltator] 9 ian., 2013 @ 1:10pm
It is currently written as four episodes, though we are toying with the idea of putting three and four together to create one mega-episode in the finale. Chapter Two is aiming for a summer 2013 release but it really depends on a whole lot of things, whether we'll be able to pull that date off or not.

It's 4,79€ discounted btw. I hope that information is reaching people clearly. :) Thank you!

Shame you don't offer a "buy all of them in advance" as I'd totally buy that... I've never been keen on having to buy each one separately... I'll definitely buy it all eventually, this looks like an awesome game, I've been praying it would make its way onto Steam :)
theowaern  [dezvoltator] 9 ian., 2013 @ 1:53pm
Maybe that will come to change. :) We're not very business oriented, we Skygoblins, and we kind of tackle things and ideas as they come. It is an interesting idea anyhow and I've heard others mention it before. One day perhaps! :)

I would agree with having more value out of buyingthe whole season in advance, but man, it is still so worth buying the first episode, if only to get you excited for the rest of the season! And hey, if later a bundle purchase option does get released, you can always gift the extra copy of the first episode to someone!

Even if out of bundle, I'll still buy each episode individually, this is one gem of an adventure game.

Thanks m4dg, means a lot! :)

Awwww hell, you guys are clearly awesome, and m4dg makes a good argument!

*goes to buy*

I would much rather at this point the company go on an episode by episode payment plan. The Dream Machine is a great example of why. I bought into that to, and Im still waiting for chapter 4 nearly 8 months after release. I would be ticked off if I had to go through this again. Im glad the developer decided to go this route. It puts less pressure on them to develop a nice sequel episode without the pressure of time on their necks. That ends up being bad for them and bad for us. At least they are honest about that. Its just bad business in my opinion unless you have a staff like say Telltale games.

Telltale can churn them out fairly regular. Although even in that case some of the Walking Dead eps seemed rushed. In fact all their episode like games did suffer from feeling rushed. This a much better way of doing it my opinion. Better quality, no time pressures. Great title dev, very nicely done. Glad to see classic adventuring ala Grim Fandango is back. I miss the days of Day of the Tentacle. Those were some glorious gaming days back then. Todays games just lack creative stories.

Going episode by episode also allows funds to funnel through to help pay for the others. Its just good business and we'll end up benefiting from it. The Dream Machine is exactly why they shouldnt. I went from being a happy customers to a frustrated one due to the wait. This way they dont have that pressure. They dont want that type of pressure of when when when??? You have my money when when when????? I dont wish that on any above average developer.

pat728uk: Hah, glad you were convinced, and thanks for supporting! :)

Yabba: Hah, man I had finally gotten used to it being 2012 and now you tell me it's 2013 already? dafuq. Thanks for pointing that out. :P

jimrad1: You know what? That's a very, very good point. I certainly wouldn't like that pressure on us. Frankly we're stressed out enough as is and I'd hate being in a situation where I feel I let people down because the episodes are coming at too slow a pace. (Though I'm sure we'll get plenty of such complaints with this model as well, just probably not nearly as many.)

Thanks for all your kind words, being compared to GF and DOTT is an honor. :)

The problem I'm seeing right now is that when you put up this game for sale as the first chapter in a series of four, you're essentially selling an incomplete game. Not like Half-Life, where every episode in the series is a game in its own right and there's no promise the story will ever be complete, but more like The Walking Dead where we can expect a complete story by the end of all episodes.

Now when you don't provide a way for me as a customer to buy into all four episodes in one go, I have no way to be sure I'll actually recieve these four episodes of content. Personally, I'd like to play though all episodes in a row without waiting for the next one to be developed, and I'm sure there's others who feel the same way. Therefore I'd rather wait until all the episodes are released before buying them all. If you're now relying on income from the prevous episode to make the next one, I would essentially be investing in your game.

The question is; will you be able to fund the next episode from the earnings of the first episode without the extra revenue from people who'd rather buy a complete game?

That's just my thoughts. And as jimrad1 said, I'd rather not see you being pressured into premature releases and I really appreciate you making a classic adventure game. Keep up the good work!

How long is this game? I mean how many hours can I kill there?
