Can you play at higher resolutions
I have a gtx680, whenever I try to play at any resolution higher then 1280x1024 it crashes and says something about an opengl driver. I would like to play my native 1920x1080 or something close to it?

Is that possible?

ok so you want to go into

wherever you installed steam>steamapps>common>Quake 3 Arena>baseq3>q3config (open it with notepad or word document)

then the lines you want to edit are

seta r_mode "whatever it is" to seta_r mode "-1" (with quotes)
seta r_fullscreen "whatever it is" to seta_r fullscreen "1"
seta r_customwidth "xxxx"
seta r_customheight "xxxx"

Thank you that worked! I was able to play multiplayer wow brought back so many memories.

Only thing is game moved so fast I can't control it, any optimal mouse settings I should use?

you can turn off windows mouse acceleration control panet>mouse>pointer>make sure the slider is at 6/10 cus thats just the best setting>uncheck mouse acceleration

and in Quake 3, setup>controls>adjust mouse speed to liking

You don't have to use the q3config file to edit your resolution actually.

Just open console and do the above in this format:

/seta r_mode "-1"
/seta r_customwidth "xxxx"
/seta r_customheight "xxxx"

These three setting changes will require a game restart.

ALSO:

If you want to tweak your field of view for your resolution, you can do this at any time in the game, and do NOT need to restart Quake 3 to have the changes.

/seta cg_fov "xxx"

Here is what I used for my triple screen as a example:

/seta r_mode "-1"
/seta r_customwidth "4980"
/seta r_customheight "900"

/seta cg_fov "150"
