Not making hl3? fine... how about a compermise?
So if your not going to make the next game how about selling a script for it? like the story line or letting us know what would have happend next?
Who is G-man?
What contract?
What happens to barny?
Can we kill Lemar?
what happens to Breen?
what are the benifactors?
who are the benifactors?
WHAT IS THE ARORA?! (the boat)
how does this tie in to apature?
Did breen plan this all along when he ordered the crystle to be scaned at 105%?
Where did the crystle come from?
Did we get to hit mofsman with a car? (or other way of dispatching of her)
What happens to the vortigonts?
Did we get to kill a bunch of benifactors?
why do the gun ships look like flying whales?
WHAT is g man?
Who does g man work for?
How does g man just show up?
WHAT HAPPENS TO GORDEN AND ALEX?!?!?

that would be great or just a video Q and A session between the community and the develipers answering these and other questions would be better

but please dont let us hang any longer!

Valve haven't ruled out development of another HL game, despite the cancellations of other developers - as such, any existing script or ideas are either under NDA as IP, or unfinished/non-canonical if there even is any concrete storyline even been scripted yet.

Who is G-man?
Oringially the BM Administrator, but with HL2, Breen became the administrator and G-Man was developed further as something else.
what happens to Breen?
He's given a host body in order to survive where the 'Combine' forces retreat to
what are the benifactors?
A euphemism for the Combine forces
who are the benifactors?
A euphemism for the Combine forces
WHAT IS THE ARORA?! (the boat)
A ship (not a boat)
how does this tie in to apature?
It doesn't.
The Aperture Science thing was a gimmick liniking Portal to HL2 Episodes, as Portal contained references to BM, HL:2Episodes referenced Aperture Science in return homage. Since this was scrapped as canon by Portal 2, One can discount any particular importance to Aperture Science in HL canon.

Although the administrator was the "G-Man" then, it's possible that said administrator may have known that a RCS would occur. Everything else is ot possible, because it hadn't been written when HL1 script was coined.
Where did the crystle come from?
Xen
Did we get to hit mofsman with a car? (or other way of dispatching of her)
That's what Garry's Mod is good for,
What happens to the vortigonts?
Which Vortigaunts?
Did we get to kill a bunch of benifactors?
Already did, in HL2 and HL2:Episodes
why do the gun ships look like flying whales?
It appears they have elements of organic/biological structure. Typical of the COmbine's amalgamation of technology with organisms.
Who does g man work for?
His employers
How does g man just show up?
Some ability to distort time/space is evidenced
WHAT HAPPENS TO GORDEN AND ALEX?!?!?
They get married, have kids and live happily ever after in a wood cottage aaway from civilisation.

I'm sure HL3 is still in the works but Valve is busy with other stuff, hopefully they will say something soon, i have been wanting to see something since HL2 EP2.

so much questions that ARE ANSWERED if you pay the slightest attention in the game. i mean ffs dude, "who are our benefactors?" OVEROBVIOUS the combine. breen uses that word to talk of them to make them seem less cruel. and you really need to start learning english, as well as pay attention. if you would pay attention while playing half life 2, you'd at least know how to spell gordon's name. and half life 3 is being developed, and shall be released one day, i believe the day is nearing sooner than most people think.

That's not true, though. The Borealis was an Aperture Science research vessel used to house some mysterious portal technology that would enable cross-universe travel, which is why the Combine want it, so they can send a message to their home world and get reinforcements to crush the resistance. Episode 2 and Portal 1 both came out the same day as part of the Orange Box; in Ep2 Aperture is mentioned as being a Black Mesa rival and the developers of whatever tech is onboard Borealis, and in Portal you can find several hidden easter eggs referencing the rivalry between the two companies. So you're right about that.

But how does Portal 2 retcon said connections? There was nothing about the game that scrapped the pre-established canon - if anything, Portal 2 strengthened the idea that Aperture Science and/or something they made is going to be vitally important to the plot of HL3. In Portal 2, you can actually discover the long-empty dry dock that used to house the Borealis, before it was unintentionally teleported to the Arctic in some horrible accident - you get an achievement for it and everything. Cave Johnson also references the bitter Black Mesa/Aperture Science rivalry when he grumbles about his belief that Black Mesa stole and sold many of his own ideas - a recording which, incidentally, is played in the same room where you can find the Borealis dry dock.

The Half Life writers have a clear vision of what they want the story to be, and they take their work seriously - I doubt they would connect Aperture to a critical plot reveal in Ep2 simply for the sake of a reference. If all they wanted to do was reference Portal, they could've just stuck a radio somewhere or had an NPC humorously mention that their war with the Combine reminds them of the old Aperture/Black Mesa rivalry or something. But they made Aperture's Borealis an essential part of the Half Life plot, instead.

Also, OP, most of your questions are either already answered in older games, or are future plot ideas that nobody but Valve has any clue about, such as who the Gman is and where the Advisors came from. And I wouldn't write off HL3 as dead just yet - remember the leaked concept art from last year that was drawn in mid-2008? If they were working on concepts for the game half a year after it was supposed to come out, that means the project was almost certainly scrapped and restarted at least once, right? I think that Valve were trying to cram a lot of amazing and innovative gameplay ideas into the next game but realized it wasn't worth it to pour all that change into a simple two-hour game (they would have needed to change almost everything to realistically depict an Arctic environment), so they scrapped Ep3 and started working on a full-sized Half Life 3 instead. If they started making HL3 in the summer of 2008, that means we're approaching the game's fifth year of development. And Half Life 2 was made in five years, so it's very likely that the game will be announced and released sometime in the next year or so. If the end of 2014 rolls around and we still have no word on HL3, then, I think, is the time to start giving up on ever seeing it.

(As for getting to kill Lamarr and Mossman, Lamarr presumably died in Ep2 - she snuck on board the rocket and got locked in before it launched. And Ep2 implies that a big part of the next game would be saving Mossman from the Combine and having her take you to the Borealis, why would you kill her?)

how the ♥♥♥♥ did you interpret it? they are tied, they are cannon, and valve confirmed this themselves! the borealis is in portal 2, as well as half life 2 episode 2, and aperture is referenced too much to be non-cannon. btw, almost everything that happens in the games itself is cannon, only certain easter eggs aren't, but this, this wasn't even an easter egg, it was of vital importance for the story yet you completely missed it. i am dissapointed.

Naivety like that is almost cute, like believing in the tooth fairy. Marc Laidlaw wrote HL1 script and had no idea what Chet Faliszek, Erik Wolpaw would come up with, especially as this was before Wolpaw was even known to Valve (and cleaerly no knowledge of Aperture Science), when it came to HL2.
There was never a full script in place prior to near completion of a title, and no reason for there to be either, since this constrains development and artistic styles and is counterproductive when creating a game.

Come on, there's no need to be rude. We're talking about the plot of a video game.

Of course there wasn't a written-out script, but since Ep1, yes, they've had a story they've been planning to tell. They've rearranged things and changed things, but they have a conclusion they're aiming towards and they've been leading up to something for a while - I mean, look at the Advisors, they've been around since HL2 but were only properly revealed in Ep2, with hints towards their existence throughout the other games. Besides, when I brought up the "clear vision", I meant with regards to the upcoming story for HL3, not what's already been told. In Ep2, Aperture's connection to the Borealis and the Borealis's connection to the overall plot were firmly established and showcased, and that's not something they can just retcon, nor was it included simply for the sake of a reference. Just like the end of Ep1 set up the plot of Ep2, with the Advisor evacuation, the reactor core meltdown, and the portal code Alyx stole, Ep2 was setting up for the plot events that were supposed to happen in Ep3 and are now going to happen in HL3. The episodes are very connected plotwise, and yes, the writers do have a clear vision of the story they want to tell through these three latest games in the Half Life series. Ep1, Ep2, and Ep3 were supposed to be connected, like three parts of a single game, and it stands to reason that HL3 will retain most of those connections, because otherwise they won't be delivering on the narrative promised by Ep2. And I'm still curious as to what it is in Portal 2 that makes you think the Aperture connection has been retconned away.
