Playing Half-Life 2 on 2 different computers

At the weekend I am using another computer as during the week. Always if I want to continue Half-Life 2 during the week und I load the savings from the cloud, I have to recognize, that the savings are not the latest ones.

Before I shut down my computer at the weekend, I always wait until the synchonisation of steam cloud has finished and I always close steam properly before.

I do not understand, why I cannot continue on the other computer based on the latest savings. Why does the steam cloud do not offer me the latest savings?
