Is this game worth buying.
I have heard over and over that it is the best game ever. I was wondering, what do you guys think? I got $19 so it does not have to be amazing.

It used to be worth something...

But ever since that useless update this game does not run properly, crashes or closes to desktop, saves don't always load, random skipping and overall game fail.

Wait until Valve fix this mistake of theirs. (So miffed right now because of this.)

omfg, if you havent played this, you absolutely have to... i played it on the xbox ( the origional version was for console... i think) so i didnt have any problems. The game adds a sort of dirty rusty steam punk type of mood to sci fi. But thats the part i really like. Its difficulty over most other games along with the more realistic explanation for how you can survive bullet shots and radioactive goo. the two best parts of it are the never ending map sense, because each level is conected to the last by a load, so you never leave your character and not see where he was while he moved on to the next level. which makes it even more realistic and less mysterious. The semi flawed graphics give the game a sense of being 'classic'. all in all, i give it 5 stars. Great game, although you might want to try it on xbox... or whatever other console its on. i like the xbox controls better anyway, a controller is designed for a videogame any way, a key board is not. long story short AWESOME GAME, GET IT!!!

Not sure why people are having issues with the recent update. I haven't had any problems. As for buying the game, it is a definite MUST own, especially for the mods you play afterwards. Don't forget to snag Episode 1 and 2 as well. Once you played them, head over to moddb.com and get these mods - Black Mesa Source (an absolutely fantastic redo of the original HL game), Black Mesa-On The Rail Uncut (extends that portion of the game to its original length, but 100% better), Black Mesa-Surface Tension Uncut (adds in the missing portion of that mission), Estranged, Alchemilla Demo (they are still working on the full game, which takes place in the Silent Hill universe), Deep Down, Precursor, Spherical Nightmares, Missing Information, Nightmare House 2 (it also includes the first part as the prologue), The Stanley Parable and Underhell.

Just wait until it's -75% off, you could get the Complete Pack for 10 bucks. I recommend getting the first Portal too.

I wonder why there are so many people who have played GMod but haven't played Half-Life 2.

Honestly, I don't care much for HL2, I played the entire game and well, it's ok, but Half Life is where the story is. However if you don't like Half Life's graphics, get the source mod Black Mesa (It's free and awesome)
