HL2 Sounds

So, I recently downloaded that 'ol mod "All sounds replaced with my voice", but I can't get it to work. I've added the sounds folder to Steam\SteamApps\common\Half-Life 2\hl2 and deleted the sound.cache, but everytime I start the game the sounds are default, and the sound.cache reappears. Anyone know how to fix this?
