Nice game!!!!
i have to say i really am enjoying this game i found i perfer the steam version versus the dvd-rom version of the game it does have loading issues but considering you are loading a entire game from a hard drive you would experience some loading time

Me too...until a glitch hapenned when I go to ANY LOADING SCREEN AT ALL,the game crashes );

All pc versions of Half Life 2 load from your hard drive. Steam was invented specifically to act as the HL2 drm. There is no legitimate way to load the game from dvd rom, there is no disk check. Unless you mean install from disk.

OP seems to be under the assumption that a DVD will be faster than a hard drive. That couldn't be further from the truth - a hard drive is an order of magnitude faster than any dvd-rom drive.
