HALF LIFE 2 CRASHING

There was an update so i did it and now after awhile it crashes, doesnt come up with anything, just closes

Hi,
Got the same problem here : stuck in the "Follow Freeman" level. I'm just getting crazy. I've tried everything, uninstalled, reinstalled, checked the files via Steam, tried to change language or resolution, set options und so weiter...Please...someone, help...Have mercy...Bouh

Stuck on the same thing as bobfish. On "Follow Freeman" level when going up stairs to roof

thats weird im stuck with "Follow Freeman" too... it tends to crash just as the doors burst open and the combine come out

I have the same problem. The game just quits with no error messages or anything in the event log. It was fine until this point.

Updating drivers, changing graphics settings makes no difference. :(

Not sure if this will work but you can try adding Half-Life 2's executable (hl2.exe) to the Data Execution Prevention (DEP)

I also get the crash. Tried updating, reinstalling, video changes and the lot.

It's on the "Follow Freeman" mission, after shutting down three generators. It seems some script is about to fire, but crashes.

Same here, it crashes when attempting to load a part of the campaign or when I attempt to load a save file, it just closes without warning. I have to Quick Save all the time so that I don't loose much progress.

Ditto, but for me it's right after shutting down the first generator, when I and the squad run across the bridge and start to enter the corridor with the tripwire laser turrets to the front and right. I've verified the game files/cache, to no effect. Kind of a game breaker right now!

Yup, something is wrong. I also get crash in Follow Freeman

I've submitted a ticket to Steam Support for this issue. Perhaps we each should, so they'll realize what a huge deal this is.

I ended HL few hours ago, just used noclip to skip bugged room and its worked ;) So you dont need wait for fix. Funny thing is I was played again this level and now i dont got any error/exit to windows.

I tried to start the game agein from an earlier chapter, 9a Entanglement and now it worked (Read it might work in another post.)! I cannot explain why, I did take out the generators in another sequence but I have no idea why it should matter. Cost me a few extra hours but was well worth it.
