Fix your game Valve
I would like to set my HL2, HL2:ep1 and HL2:ep2 graphics settings to what they have been set at for years. Maxed out. Thank you. I'm not a fan of updates that make the game worse.

At least TF2 and Portal 2 are fine.

I had this issue and solved it like this:
-Opt in to the steampipe beta in the client and game.
-Game, properties, launch options, type: "-autoconfig -dxlevel 98 -mat_dxlevel 98"
-Go into the game, set up your desired options, hit ok and quit game.
-Remove the launch options.
-Play your game.

(this works for Half Life 2, Half Life 2 ep1 & ep2)

Should I HAVE to fix HL2 with any commands? I could try but don't see why I should have to. Worked fine for years.

Exactly. The game is nearly a decade old. We're lucky that valve is actually trying to fix this issue after this long, unlike some developers who wouldn't bother fixing a game after half that time.

What are you talking about. I never had a problem untill their last update of the game. If they had done nothing I would still have a game that worked right. So I'm not feeling so lucky. Also how do you know they are trying to fix it? If they said they were please link I would like to know.

Diskussionsregler och -riktlinjer
