Half-Life 2
Installing Half Life 2 to another HDD
Hello,
I have 2 folders for my Steam games, one on SSD which is default, and one on 2 TB HDD wich is the one I created afterwards. When installing games such as The Witcher, Portal 2, or FEAR, STEAM did asked me where I wanted them to be installed, but it's not doing so for Half Life 2... Can someone help on that matter ?

> P.S. : I DON'T WANT TO HAVE STEAM INSTALLED ON ONLY ONE HDD WITH ALL GAMES. Please, I already get that point, so there's no need to suggest me that workaround. STEAM showed that it was able to install games on other HDD, all I want to know is why can't I do so for Half Life 2.

Thank you very much.

Exact same issue for me!! I have 2 hard drives (ssd for my OS, 2nd drive for games etc) all other games in steam ask where I wish to install except the Half Life games. Does anyone know why this is or have an answer.
Hi!
It's a shame that Valve own games (beside Portal 2) don't support this feature while almost every other game does.
I used System Links or "a Junction" for this
1. Shutdown Steam
2. Copy ( or Move) your SteamApps Ordner to your HDD
3. Delete the SteamApps Ordner on your SSD
4. run Command and enter this ( "" are only need if you got spaces in your address)
mklink \J "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps" D:\Programme\SteamLibrary\SteamApps
5. Run Steam and enjoy

Steam thinks all the Games are on your primary drive, while they are on your HDD. If your SSD is full won't be able to install new games since Steam thinks the drive where the games are, is full.
Its now possible and I'm so happy :D
