Replay 2013
Busy with a replay of HL2 for the badges and whilst HL2 will forever be a classic (I am not going to argue with popular opinion), it's a classic thats starting to show its age graphically. I remember the first time I booted this game up back in 2004 and I sat there gobsmacked at the loveliness of it all. Mechanically its still a very solid shooter although Bioshock (the first one), not the inferior sequels, still to this day remains my favourite and most innovative FPS. I am really keen to see what Valve has up its sleeve for the new Source engine that will no doubt run Half-Life 3 especially when you have the likes of Frostbite 2 out there and all the lovliness that can conjure.

The thing is, I have never completed HL2. It keeps loosing my interest when I hit Ravenholm and over the years I have struggled to push through this particular section without ditching the game all together.

This replay I am going to try my hardest to actually finish this game 9 years later.

Also, if you would like a graphic revamp, there is a mod named Cimematic Mod.

Actually in my opinion its get boring after Ravenholm because its at that point that you start to realize HL2 has no story, just episodic fetch quest.

Okay so I finally got past Ravenholm only to be greeted with another terrible section involving a vehicle. It's these terrible "driving" sections in HL2 that really kind of destroy it for me as they are not really implememted well. If only there was a way I could remove them all together as they ruin what is an exhilarating experience otherwise.

Well, I'm sure you could find a way to unlock all the chapters and skip the ones you don't like, but I could be wrong.
