Dat ending...
So, what did you guys think about the ending? I thought it was perfect. I have so many questions, but I guess I'll have to wait for HL3. Also, did you guys think that Breen could still be alive? I didn't see the sphere he was in fall down quickly, so I think he may have escaped.

Well, what can I say? Of course I love the ending and I regard it very highly. You realise the sequels to the game are Half-Life 2: Episode One and Episode Two, right? Or were you referring to the ending of Episode Two? Either way, I think Breen may have an appearance or bigger reference again, but probably not as himself or not alive anyway. Maybe another recorded transmission which reveals a few things? I know the Beta had some unused dialogue that could be brought back. Otherwise, I've mostly forgotten about poor old Breen. The great actor himself has actually passed away recently, which is regretful since he made such an awesome character.

Dr. Breen was givin' a host body by our "benefactors" so he could escape though a Combine portal before Gordon jammed a crowbar in his ♥♥♥.

Anyways the voice actor for Dr. Breen died a few years back now. Shame that, he was a great bad guy. So don't expect a return of the Breen. Whos to say that a weird alien (Maybe an Advisor.) dosen't show up with Breen's consciousness. Or something stranger.

I just got Hl2. I don't really want to spend more money on those other games.

rasx33 I am sorry, but, I need to know. If you don't really want to spend more money on those other games, why do you care the plot around Breen? I am sorry, but I think that you will be a little confused to understand the beginning of Half-Life 3. I mean, I am sure that you'll understand it basicaly by seeking some information here or at inthernet. But, truly, probably, you wont understand perfectly all the Half-Life's plot if you don´t play all the games. So.... Why do you care some aspect of Breen's destiny? Sorry for my english.

And please, don´t be angry with this. Is just that I can´t undestand it.

Of course that you don´t need expend your money, there is other ways to play this games with lucky, but you spoke like if you was thinking, "I don´t need to know that games because I don´t care their plots" but at the same time you say "But, I care what the people thinks about the Dr.Breen's future" and this is the aspect that I can´t understand.

Well, I've seen some walkthroughs of HL2 Episode 1 and 2, but I don't want to buy sequels or prequels. I would have prefered it if Episode 1 and 2 were both included in Hl2, with a higher price, of course.

Certainly. Thanks a lot for you answer; I understand it now, but, my personal experience is that this story, needs some more to understand perfectly all the plot than watch walkthroughs. Specially because not all the people see the same things in this games. But, if you only want to know this plot more or less, is perfectly understandable and, in any case, this wont change the price. But, sometimes, there is 75% off, and I hope that someday you´ll have more money XD. So, take my opinion just like an advice: This games specially Half-Life more than other expansion, or prequels speaks diferently to each player, and I think that a video where you can´t see where you want at any time, could be a problem. A very tiny problem, but a problem If you really want to know all the details of the plot. Therefore have fun and thanks again for your time and answer.

If Breen's alive I would then he's probably being punished by the Combine for having failed to stop Freeman. Now what ending we talking? HL2, HL2E1, HL2E2? Cause HL2 left me really excited for the next opening, but thne E1 kinda threw me. The idea of the Gman being in control and having Freeman be up for hire to the highest bidder was interesting, as was the constant motif of Freeman entering the games from a train, a metaphor for movement, progression, change and whatever else you care to attribute to it. E1's ending seemed anticlimactic to me for some reason but I may just be judging it too harshly as I was still thrown by the strangness of the idea of Episodic installments and the fact that it was later admitted that they should have been called HL3 E1, E2 and so on. I didn't like the idea that the third and possibly final instalment wasn't coming as one big, epic, kickass package as was the case when HL2 finally dropped. And for E2 of course it was great. It's the main reason why we are so eager to get E3/HL3. I want to know what happens next! I was of course sad and almost ♥♥♥♥ed off that Eli died, especially the way it happened was so brutal and sickening. But it only went to show just how much I had come to care for these characters.

I've never really considered that Breen could still be alive, but maybe he was teleported to safety by an Advisor or something, but then just creates more questions, like - Why would they do that?
