How did you get over any fears?
I'd say I used to fear headcrabs and zombies, well, back in the day when I played the old Half-Life 1 Uplink, then HL2, which my fear seemed to have vanished, I feared the fast zombies way more than the normal, I will tell you, I got over the fear of them the scariest way possible, which shocked me it went kinda like this:

I was playing Episode 2, the pit area of the map, and there was a fast zombie in the dumpster, I watched a video, so I was prepared to fight, but not like this, I threw a granade in, and it came back out, I threw another granade, and it jumped out of the dumpster ON FIRE and it screamed then jumped at me (I like to use the term, flew, or fly) and attacked, I was sooo shocked, then killed it, but after that, I seemed to have looked at them differently, maybe something changed in my mind that I wouldn't have to fear them again, so yeah, I don't fear them anymore, only if they surprise me suddenly.

Maybe you've had something similar, or you head on straight at your fears... either way, apart from Ravenholm, the game isn't that scary, and I doubt it should ever be rated MA...

I didn't find HL2 scary. Kinda creepy, yes, but not scary.

I got over my fears of Ravenholm knowing that Father Gregori would protect me.

The only thing I hated were half life 1 headcrabs. It scared the ♥♥♥♥ out of me when they jumped out of nowhere

I have limited acrophobia (fear of heights) in real life: I can ride in a plane just fine, but put on a walkway or roof with a railing that I don't trust, or mesh floors where you can see all the way down to the first floor . . .

Anyway, heading down into the Ravenholm mine, and going under the train bridge made me think I was going to pee my pants the first times.

I didn't hate or fear anything besides having to parkour and comb areas looking for things needed to open a gate or something, but even those were just annoyances.

I was creeped out from the zombie screams when on fire. Something about it just, made you feel bad for the poor ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who got taked control of from the headcrab on him.
