This is, without a doubt, the most overrated game of all time.
Let's face the facts. Half-Life 2 has one of the most devoted, dedicated, loud and vocal fanbases of any videogame in history. It is because of these fans that this game has recieved the rave reviews it has, and it is because of these fans that it is considered one of the best games in history without a doubt.

It is because of these fans that I have to make this post.

Excuse me, what facts should I face? Can't see those "facts" anywhere... Instead the internet is ripe with FACTS that Half-Life games are among the best games ever made.

If Half Life 2 is so good, then why have I never played it?

So, what? Just because YOU haven't played a game it's not worthy to the unwashed masses or something?
I don't like bumping troll posts but this is obviously one so im just going to remind people not to feed him.

But seriously, your post is so antagonistic toward the fanbase and you have no other constructive criticism towards the actual game, it looks like you are just trying to stir the drama pot.

Bioshock Infiity is obviously newer and has better graphics. That alone makes it better, but it also is part of a better storyline. That is not up for debate.

I'd reckon that both bioshock and half-life have solid story lines though one is much more forced upon you while the other is subtle and more in the background and goes untold verbally but has a lot more non-verbal story points that create a larger narritive. Both are well done in their own way but I can't see how one can be placed over the other as fact, only personal preference. Plus there's other things that half-life does different than bioshock, one being the use of physics in some puzzles, like figuring how to break open the canal gate or using weights to access pulley systems containing items while bioshock infinite didn't really have any puzzles to speak of besides hitting the 3 bells at the start which they told you exactly how to do even if you had the hints turned off.

There's also the weapon issue, half-life 2 has a very balanced weapon system where powerful guns have less ammo and less powerful guns tend to have more but unlike newer games you could carry them all during large sections of the game so you always had options to pick and choose which guns to save for much later on like a magnum or the secondary fire for the assault rifle that shot those awesome bouncing death orbs. Bioshock on the other hand gave us two guns which might be more "realistic" in the sense that a person can't hold a lot of guns and explosives and be anywhere as movbile as a video game character is but I honestly prefer to have a lot of weapons and have the manage my resources over a longer period of time than to have to just switch guns that I'm carrying and find the gun later on in the game where I actually want to use it. I also found a lot of the powerful guns to have too much ammo and be far too frequent to limit the players choices to anything that really became a hard choice. Sniper ammo was far too common for a weapon that would 1 shot most enemies and do heavy damage to bigger enemies, especially once you upgraded it. I used the sniper/handcannon combo to pretty much make 1999 mode easy mode without using any of the vending machines to buy ammo either for the achievement. While the "sniper" in half-life 2 is extremely powerful for a crossbow, you rarely get ammo for it so every shot matters when you use it. Enemies don't really drop that ammo type so any and all crossbow bolts come from actually having to find them in the hidden caches. Again this is a personal outlook on both games so some people can feel free to totally disagree with my viewpoint but I think in the end that's all games are, differernt people play them and differernt people end up with different points of view on them, why they are good, why they are bad, why they are over or underrated.

Another thing I think half-life 2 does really well is enviormental navigation. There's quite a few areas that are dangerous not because of the enemies but because of the toxic stuff around you or fire or electricity and I really enjoy sections like this where I can explore a hostile area and have tension without having to be in a firefight. Something that a lot of FPS games are missing these days.

Just because a game is newer doesn't mean it is better. Just because a game has better graphics doesn't mean it is better. Just because a story is harder to keep track of doesn't mean it is harder. And here's the big kicker:

You have the right to say this is a bad game. Depending on what you like in a game, ANY game could be awful to you, from Bioshock Infinite to Portal. But judging a game you have never played? I cannot even come up with an idiom for how shockingly idiodic that is. Oh, wait, I just did. That's like blowing up an entire city because the first building you see doesn't have tinted windows.
