Why is Gordon immune to Headcrabs?

So I played the Half Life remake Black Mesa and I asked me the whole time why are the Headcrabs not able to jump on Gordons head and turn him into a zombie like everyone else? Sure, he's wearing his HEV suit, but as you can see on every Half Life cover he isn't wearing his helmet. So there is nothing that could stop the Headcrabs from taking control over him, but even so they just make a bodycheck attack.

I think it was explained in the manual for Half-Life, Gordon simply doesn't give them an opportunity to attach their beaks.

Yes he has the suit, but no helmet that would protect his head like you can see on the boxes of the game.

Guys guys! In Black Mesa there's a code which allows headcrab attempt to latch on your face like a facehugger. Then what Gordon does is pull it off, code: sv_headcrab_can_latch_on_player 1, it may be a scrapped now, but the code is still in game and someone made a fix for it here http://blackmesa.gamebanana.com/textures/3497

Use sv_cheats 1 if nothing happens after 1 billion headcrab attacking your face.
