Ah, well that clears the whole VAC worry. Thank you. I suppose I'll try using ENBSeries AO later.
Anyways, as for the ambient occlusion, I enabled it for Garry's Mod (a HL2 mod) once, and experienced major graphical bugs. AO just doesn't work well with Source, well at least not the Nvidia one. Is the ENB good, by the way? I was looking onto Cinematic Mod but it was a too major overhaul (and well, investing 40 gigs into such a useless thing?). Does it also work for episodes?
Having problems with AO. Before I edited the post, I asked if ENB would activate VAC, but because I couldn't get ENB to work, I changed it to only ask about why the AO wasn't working properly.
I couldn't get ENB to work for HL2 (probably installed it incorrectly), but I've seen ENB on Skyrim and it looks pretty great. I also saw a bit of ENB footage for HL2 on Youtube, and it also looked pretty good, though not a drastic overhaul.
The graphics mod I'm looking forward to for HL2 is Half Life 2: Update.
As an aside: I had just played through the HL2: Update, but I have to say the cinematic mod is WAY better in terms of graphical updates. It looks like a current-gen game, whereas the HL2: Update still looks dated (even though HL2 was already ahead of its time when it came out).
If you're wondering whether to play the update or the cine mod, choose the cine mod. I'd keep the original soundtrack, though, it's almost impossible to improve on.
