Skill Slots and Abilities
I think the tutorials are a bit vague on how to use certain skills and abilities in the game. It took be forever to realize how to enchant my weapons as an Occultist because I'd thought there was something I needed to equip from the skills window. Turns out, after a bit of digging, the mechanic worked a bit differently from that.

Is it possible to make the tutorials a bit more intuitive in that you're generally more aware of how exactly everything works? For example, I started out as a Demolitionist and put some points into Fire Strike and was puzzled when I didn't see any changes in how my weapon was functioning (I was using a rifle). It was only later when I tried out an Occultist that I realize you actually had to manually assign things to the action bar (which was not clear to me in the beginning).

you make a good point, the occultist witchfire spell is a passive spell, you only have to activate it once, FS you need to assing to your left button like cadence, if you do want more info about different skills and their effects, you could probably be better off by either asking here or on the main forums,

When it came to assigning Physique, Cunning, or Spirit, I just happened to figure out you could increase those manually through the character window too. I stumbled on that little detail by chance (thinking they were automatically upgraded based on my class choice anyway).

As I immediately turned off any tips and tutorials(I cant even remember if there is any), I am unfortunately not in a position to tell if they are informative enough.

I guess a lot of people turns that stuff off, and as such, miss out on some information, but it doesn't seem that this is what happend to you.

If the tips/help is not informative enough, it should be, as the game does have some unique mechanics, which might not be intuitive for all(if you haven't played TQ:IT, it does take some to get used to it).
That being said, this is still alpha and there is still lots of stuff to add.

phys is used for defence and also helps you to wear better armour,
cunning effects damage and crit chance, also it is used to meet weapon requirements,
spirit is used for spells, increasing damage done by spells,

on top of that you have DOT damage, burn, bleed etc, so bleeding is effected by cunning, burn damage by spirit, there are more, the extra points that you can assign, is useful for meeting requirements, so if you want to wear heavier armour, and don't want to be so fragile,

I think the other thing is, the game is still in alpha, so if you played TQ, then you know a lot of this, but for new players, I can understand, maybe in time they might add more tutorial text, but if you are stuck, you are better off asking.

Which tutorials did you find to be vague? There is a tutorial specifically about assigning skills to your bar.

I suppose it's not so much "vague" as in I want more specifics in general. For instance, if a tutorial says, "assign x, y, and z to you skill bar" I'll be like, "Great! Now, where exactly is my skill bar?"

Some games outright highlight certain things or give you pop-ups in-game that pertain exactly to what they're talking about. You know, for the slower gamers like myself who aren't able to pick up these things as fluently.

By the way, don't answer any of the example questions I pose--I know where the skill bar is at.
