Enemies too high level
I got the key to the cutist base behind the Iron door, first time I went there I was level 20 and the enemies was level 24-26, I hardly made it to the end and coulden't beat the "boss" because of his healing.
I decided to come back later when I was level 25, and I did, but only to find out that the enemies had risen to level 28-31.
I don't know about the rest of you guys, but that looks like a bug to me, and if it isn't then the I would like the devs to consider changeing the way enemies level compare to the player.

I seriously got my butt kicked since the enemies steamrolled me, so I went out again, since the "boss" probably had risen in level too and would still be far too stong for me.

Sounds like you just need to get better gear. As a lvl 22 Soldier I've killed stuff 4-5 lvls higher and my gear/DPS isn't really all that special imo.

It's not a bug, it's supposed to be tough in there. Eventually as you get closer to level cap and reenter it they will stop leveling and hit their own cap which I think is around 34/35 for most of the mobs and bosses. You will be punished in there until you get some exceptional gear and can smash through it faster.

It is intentional.
It is a dungeon that scales with the character(as in, a few levels above), up to a certain level. This way, if you have good enough gear/skills, you can farm the area for good loot. There is also a special weapon that you can optain in there(a sword with a special summon ability).

It is one of the toughest areas in the game currently(although that also depends on your equipment and build).

There are several of such areas that are "over-leveled", and they are there to provide a challenge as well as rewards.

Also, the Devs wants to add more hidden areas, so maybe you might suddenly find something similar in future builds.

Hehe.. Nope not a bug ;) Gear, resistances and tactics is the name of the game.

If you find the difficulty to high, it is either an indication that you dont have good enough gear, or that your build is "spread to thin" to have enough impact. Or you lack the ability/strategy to beat them. All 3 will come to you as you play more.

The Hidden bosses are meant as a challenge, often are they so hard that you will have to revisit the area later on, when you have gained several levels and found much better gear.

To me(and others) it is a very good thing to have in an RPG, instead of just steamrolling through content.

And the main-quests themselves are fairly straightforward, so you dont even "need" to beat those hidden areas. They are there as a bonus.

Quite a few players think that the game is "too easy", and they cant wait for the ability to increase the difficulty.
Personally I think it has a pretty good balance overall and I think that certain areas are easier or harder depending on your class/build.

The Devs should make different difficultys, not all players want to play in high level difficulty with high level strategic, where you must replay campaignes over and over again to find better loot to beat those bosses, that's for Hard Core Player. The incentive to play again is very little for me now and i think about it to delete the game and play Titan Quest again.
I doubt that they will make the game any easier. The warden(and the other quest bosses) is beatable, even without farming good items.
If you are high enough level, you will have come across good gear naturally, so even some of the hidden areas are beatable just from having a high enough level.

The Devs will implement more difficulties, but only higher ones(it is currently on normal). If you think the game requires to much strategic thinking when fighting, then it might not be the right game for you.

Atleast you will be able to adjust your prefered difficulty when mods arrive. But until then you have 4 options:
1) Increase your character level and get the benefit of better abilities.
2) Find better gear to boost damage and survivability
3) Adjust your build/playstyle.
4) Dont play the game.

Summons based occultist is easy to use to farm bosses that soldiers/nightblades can find difficult without good gear .My 35 occultist is my main gear farmer for my 2 melee characters..plus i dont have anything amazing for occultists either gear-wise..only a good speedy pair of boots to run around with while the crow/hound combo mangles anything .

Note that scaling will be different on release since we don't have difficulty levels and since being stuck at normal difficulty the max level of enemies is different to allow for more farming options.

I agree with OP, lets make game so easy that you can 1 shot everything in this game, and just have costume gear for looks ..

I don't want enemies to become much easier, i just want them to follow you own level instead of being +5 over yours

I am hoping my char to be almost dead if i make a mistake. Same applies to the mobs. Dying is part of playing games like this. And when coop comes, u have yr pals to support u, with the difficulty or challenge it in singleplayer.

They dont. Some dungeons are +5 you level(challenger areas), but even then they have a max limit. If you get to that point, their level wont increase any more.
Dr Mcninja Mar 17, 2014 @ 9:43pm
Let me repeat that enemy scaling will be different on release and the reason why they have such a high level is probably for a more varied farming experience where we have more options to farm.

I think all of this would be solved with a nice sudden level cap raise without waiting for the next big content update which will take a long time to arrive.
