And will we get the first game too?
Right now it's about 2 hours until the release. The game is already released on GoG and includes both games for 20$. No sign of the first game (Edna & Harvey The Breakout) that you should play before Harvey's New Eyes!
I hope it's a 2-pack here too. We will see how it turns out.

Wondering that too.
Any news on that?

Cheers

Yea, what a ripoff on Steam :-(

Could you tell us, at least, the name of the first game we should play before because I never heard about Edna and Harvey ?
Fhqwhgod 16 okt, 2012 @ 11:58am
Edna & Harvey The Breakout
I hate GoG but really: just get both games for the same money on GoG instead.

You hate GOG? Seriously? Hate?

Heck, I'm all for the convenience of Steam, but GOG is probably the only digital distribution store that does just about everything right:

Absolutely no DRM, ever, unlimited redownloads forever, absolutely fair pricing around the globe, unlike Steam they make sure that every game they sell works well, even on platforms it wasn't initially developed for, excellent support and if all that weren't enough: they stuff every single purchase full of as many great goodies as possible.

I can still somewhat understand if someone prefers Steam's golden cage, I enjoy the convenience of the one click downloads and updates myself ... I can certainly see the appeal, trust me ... and I ultimately accept the shackles that go along with it.

But actually hating GOG - that sounds exceptionally silly.

Can anyone actually confirm that this is only one game?
SketchStone 16 okt, 2012 @ 2:47pm
Only the one game, yes. Edna & Harvey: The Breakout is only available retail or on GOG at the moment, sadly. It really should be played before this one IMO.
Fhqwhgod 16 okt, 2012 @ 2:48pm
it's also on gamersgate but GoG has the best price by far.

I agree with Mighty Joe. A lot of my of my purchases over GOG are faulty at best. If you bring it up in the forums you will get community lashback :"You should do X or Y thing to make it work", you mean for every game I purchase? How about them fixing it?

It is perplexing why they didn't include the same deal in Steam, I would have bought both games on Steam for $20, it is a very good deal, I mean its the internet I can search for the game elsewhere and compare.

Thats weird, Ive Windows 7 on two different machines, one 32 bit the other 64 bit. Never had a problem with a GOG released game. DosBox plays nicely on any modern system so not sure what you two are experiencing. I might suggest keeping your DosBox up to date. Ive not heard good things for XP and Vista users. If thats the case, not sure what anyone would expect from a 10 year old OS.

Just to let you know, Edna & Harvey - The Breakout is also available for the iPad for 5.99$, so if for any reason you don't want to buy that (great) game at GOG but still want to play it, there is another way other than ordering it on Amazon^^

The GoG deal comes with both games, bonus art, the soundtrack (which is fantasitc) and a few other extras for 17.99 right now. The Steam version comes with only the second game and... achevments... Yeah, I love steam, but they really dropped the ball on this one. Maybe they just couldn't get the rights to the first game?
SILen(e 17 okt, 2012 @ 10:34am
Actually, Steam turned away Daedalic in the past (iirc during the time The Whispered World was released), mentioning that Daedalics games were not interesting enough for a global audience and that they wouldn't sell.

Really doubting if I should get this, it seems from the comments above that it is quite useful to have played the first game. Absolutely loved Deponia and have been looking forward to this release ever since. But the current development has kind of set me off.

My dear friend, I am german and I own both games since about...1 year or so. I have to tell you you ,,SHOULD'' play the first game because there are characters you will meet who were in the first game and it will feel like you get home after a long trip. Also...believe me....you should play the first game to feel more emotional about it all it is worth it =)
