The area you fall down into, with the UP letters, is one cube-width larger than the shaft, and the hole at the top of the shaft exiting into the next room is also one cube-width smaller. Mind the lips around both of these, but if you just create an elevator as I mentioned above, then these are no problem.
I've created a short clip for you, showing exactly how Breaking The Arc should be solved easily (sorry about no audio, it would have made the video take longer to upload). It is currently uploading and processing, and it should be finished sometime soon: http://youtu.be/ftBqNwhjuuI
Californ1a, with your way of doing it, it looks pretty easy. I will try that!
I suppose it was meant to be solved like that and I just didn't figure it out. And using it otherwise is also easy? Hmm, maybe I haven't gotten the grasp of it yet. At least I'd like to suggest a 3d positioning tutorial to the maker if there were to be a sequel.
rpgamer, if the autofill mechanism is part of the game, it can't be sketchy to make use of it, can it ;D
Positioning/drawing chains of cubes is all based on your location as well as angle of placement of the initial cube and angle facing when drawing the chain.
You mentioned facing upward afer placing the initial cube near your feet will either draw a chain upwards or draw a chain forwards. Drawing the chain upwards or forwards is based on the amount of the angle of your camera. Anything less than straight forward (less than 90 degrees) will make the chain go forward, and anything greater than straight forward (greater than 90 degrees) will make the chain go upward. It's just something you have to get used to and play around with to get good at.
Also, any sort of tutorial really wouldn't fit in with the game, it's a game that doesn't explain anything to you, you're meant to figure all of this out for youself by messing around with the mechanics.
I will just use your advice as my tutorial. Muahaha.
And it didn't mean sketchy as in cheaty. Just sketchy as in nerve-fraying.
I got up that shaft the very long and tedious way.
