Anyone else feel as if they solved a puzzle incorrectly.
I was just messing about and I think I got to an area which should have not been availible until much later.

Without knowing what you did, it would be hard to say if you did it "wrong". That said, there are multiple ways to solve some puzzles, and most of the time it doesn't matter because you'll just get stopped in the next area if you don't have the right gun for it.

There is no correct way to "do" the game. The journey will be different for every one.

TL;DR Yes

But really it's up to you what path to choose. Honestly I think you are supposed to only do puzzles for your gun color blocks and lower but that hasn't stopped me from trying haha

Trying to break the game or cheat is half the fun.

I thought I managed to cheat by doing one puzzle a way I THOUGHT they weren't expecting me to do (at the "FLY?" room, I kept taking the letters and forming a bridge across the gap it was at) only to find out that the message at the end of that specific puzzle, actually told me I did it CORRECTLY. So yeah, like Gadget says, there's really no wrong way to cheat on a puzzle.

While doing some puzzles I often had the feeling this can't be right, that there had to be another way of doing it. Even at the very end I'm not sure if I did it as it was intended, by just jumping down and free-falling to the last platform.

Many puzzles don't have just one solution, and most puzzles can be done in any order. These things increase the replay value.

About 3/4ths into the game while going up the tower I actually beat the 7 before the 6.

The order is really only controlled by the gun you have. There have been a few puzzles where I've skipped and gone back to later since you kinda have to do certain things more than once to "finish" them.

On your map all the little stubs are areas you are able to access "correctly" with your current gun. Each time you get a new gun new stubs will apear coming off of areas you have already discovered. If you "cheat" the game the path on your map will be broken and show a broken hallway with rooms on either end rather than a completed hallway.

I was able to reach the exit door as soon as I picked up the yellow gun, but I decided to explore before going on. Spent a few more hours after that, and WTF'd as soon as I saw there was still another gun to grab... O_o

I haven't tried it myself, but it might be possible to complete the game without the red gun at all... ;)
Hakkniv 20 jul. 2013 às 14:33
It isnt possible, there are many puzzles you would need the red gun for

I don't mean completing the game 100%, just reaching the ending. I was able to remove the red cubes that block the 'The End' door with the yellow gun, so all the yellow and red gun puzzles can be bypassed. The final section (The Chase) doesn't involve any gun-based puzzle apart from the last one IIRC, so if you manage to find a tricky solution with the yellow gun for the last room, there you have it!

Cant though, because you have to spread for the panels or it physically does not let you get through.

You mean getting into the end and spreading the red cubes to pick up and remove the rest?

You don't need the red gun to get past that point, I did it with the red gun but I didn't actually use it's special property just used the yellow's drag to move tool.

That's right I didn't realise the red gun could spread cubes, (I only thought it sucked them in) until I was nearly finished the game. I got into The Escape and was stuck on the tracks on the floor puzzle. I half completed it using the draging method (and probalby could have completed it) but then figured out the red gun's special property...which made that puzzle and many others like getting across WTF!? a lot easier

I'm pretty sure I managed to get through the WTF room in a way that the game did not intend.

No, you could not get through those tracks without the spread because it eventually runs out of range. The spreader does not.
