Is there a way to mute the music but not the sound effects?
Alright Steam, I tried asking on reddit and the official Antichamber Facebook and got nothing, so you guys are my last hope.

I looked around the Antichamber section in my Steam folder, but found nothing related to music that I could temporarily relocate. I set MUSICVOLUME=0.00 in both UDKGAME and DefaultGame configs, but to no avail. The music is still there.

As for why in the world I would even want to do this, I aspire to compose music for film and games one day. So for practice and the experience, I thought I would play through games with the soundtracks on mute so as to not hinder my creativity, make my own little soundtracks, then upload them to youtube on top of gameplay videos. But alas, the first game I'd like to tackle has no option to mute the music alone.

You may want to look at these commands: http://udn.epicgames.com/Three/ConsoleCommands.html#Audio Commands
I've tried some of them but they don't seem to make much of an effect, yet.

The music is an integral part of the experience, and with the way the menu is set up, it's not easy to make a slider or anything. I also seemed to have read that it's not as simple as putting sounds into two groups and calling it a day.

Thank you for this information. It seems useful, but the console doesn't show up after pressing TAB or tilde like the page says. Do I need to open Antichamber a specific way first?

To me, music is integral to any game, and especially Antichamber from what I've read. So I plan on replaying through games with the music on once I'm done taking inspiration and writing music from the game alone. Not as a vow, but because I want to. And let me tell you, Antichamber's puzzles, art direction and psychological elements are *very* inspirational.

Edit: Alex helped me out on Facebook. Thanks!

Did he give you a command?

Yes he did. It was "ce disablemusic."

Neat, I was looking for a way to turn off the music but keep sound effects and ambient noise. This does just that.
