This game NEEDS Oculus Rift support!
Now that the game has been successfully released, Alexander has time to fix some bugs and maybe add some features.
Alexander, if you are reading this, PLEASE consider adding Oculus Rift support to the game when it becomes commercially available. I am totally getting one as soon as possible, and I think many will agree that Antichamber, being a game heavily based on perception, is one of the most perfect games to play through Rift.
Anyone else here agrees? Or is the game nauseatingly mindblowing as it is now?

That'd be awesome *.* This and portal would be awesome for Oculus Rift!

Holy S***! This is the same device John Carmack spoke about AT LENGTH during the last quakecon.
The promo video features Carmack, CliffyB, Gabe Newell, and Michael Abrash... I just about creamed my pants.
How have I not heard of this before?!

I believe I have a kit on the way. No ETA on if / when it will ever happen, but I will look into it when I can.

Absolutely, I ordered the devkit and will put this game aside for now until the full support. If you don't do it, I will send ninjas to punish you.

WOAH YES!!! Thank you Alex! I am extremely excited about that! From their news updates they're shipping the first batch of prototypes around March. The one I ordered is estimated to ship around April, so no concrete dates, but they have gotten their production runs started in China.

Also in their interview with PC Gamer last August at Gamescom, Palmer mentions that their SDK would support some basic integration with Unreal and Unity engines from the start:

Currently, however, they haven't worked out any translational motion into their devkits, so strafing your head forwards/backwards and side to side won't happen until they figure out how to accurately implement it into their sensor. Of course, it will be planned eventually for the consumer model.

Alex, now that the UDK will include "native" support for the Rift, will you be able to integrate it to your game? I haven't bought it yet, but now that I have the Rift on order, I will definitely give it a spin once it has stereo support.

I will start playing with the UDK and some integration ideas with the Rift + Hydra

If this gets Occulus Rift support we'll have a lot new patients in the psychiatric ward.

They'll go mad from the awesomeness.

I have to bump this thread. The new UDK with Rift support is out. Any chance on updating Antichamber to support the Rift? I read it's a seamless integration, and you might not even need the Rift dev kit at hand to enable support. Have you received your kit yet?

This would certainly be amazing, and it's exactly what I thought almost immediately. It also should be quite easy because the oculus rift is going to have support for the Unreal engine.
