Antichamber

Antichamber

"Journey of Life" should have remained in the game's title.
I don't think it was a wise idea to take away the "Journey of Life" part from the game's name. I had seen the game advertisement on Steam when it was released but "Antichamber" didn't get much of my attention. It was pure accident I got to see the demo of the game on a friend's computer, and I only started it because "Hazard: Journey of Life" seemed more interesting than "Antichamber". While it doesn't seem to be about life in particular it still has something to it as far as I could see. I will buy the game but would have ignored it if I hadn't stumbled upon the demo.

I'd like to think the puzzles as the primary feature of the game, with the signs and their contents secondary.

Game titles rather rarely refer to the primary features(ie gameplay) of the game, naming mostly is pretty arbitary.

That said "Journey of life" sounds like a bad childrens educational movie to me, not like a eccentric puzzle game. Also I am not a huge fan of how the game is constantly giving life advice via the signs, and having "Journey of life" as part of the title would make it far too obvious/would push that part to the front far too much.

Huh. How about "Portal"? Or "Strike Suit Zero"? Or "Splice"?

Yeah those are some of the rare cases where the name does refer to the main mechanics, well spotted!

But what does "Antichamber" say/express? Even if "Journey of Life" may seem too obvious "Antichamber" didn't tell me anything which is why I ignored the game until I found another one called "Hazard: Journey of Life" which turned out to be actually the same exact game.

Nothing to change about that now, but I still wanted to express my opinion about it. I would have completely missed this interesting game if not for the demo and it's more striking title.

To me "Antichamber" says "a room where the opposite is expected". Not exactly non-euclidean space, but still reflects part of the game. If it was called "Journey of Life" it would feel like some sort of inspirational game where everything is wishy-washy. I get more interested seeing "Antichamber" than "Journey of Life". And I don't base my decisions on games purely by title. I usually look at them when I chance upon them.
Sure, but it feels to me as if there were tons of puzzle games on Steam. And tons of other games. Easy to miss specific titles then, like Antichamber.
Antichamber to me means Anti matters chamber, basically anti matter is trying to prevent you to getting to him by hiding in a chamber
It's ironic.

Try not to overthink it.
I think that Antichamber: The Journey Of Life would be a good dlc or sequel title

Also by DLC I don't mean pay-for dlcs I mean like the Portal 2 dlcs how they're added in as an update to the base game
Given the pun on the word 'antechamber', I think it captures the essence of the game very well: it's a maze consisting of a series of chambers, and puzzles are based largely on subversion of normal physical behavior.
