I've had a lot of fun playing this game (and still do, my steam time is not a true reflection as I've had it longer than on steam).
Just to start, it seems recently there was a gameplay patch, which improved some of the aspects of the gameplay, and made the keepers less stupid (somewhat). So it seems perhaps there is some interest in developing the game more.
There are some pretty big flaws though, namely;
The Community: - Generally, very unfriendly to new players. That said, I've had some really positive experiences on here with the community, actively trying to help (without request). Being an individual player on a team is a really nice idea, but when you get paired up with certain people, the game is incredibly frustrating (this can of course go the other way). Couple that with the fact people often just refuse to play their assigned position (usually defence) and that can really ruin it.
Lack of players: - The community is relatively small, (which can be a good thing to some extent), but often this can result in having to wait a while for games to start. This tends to only really be the first game in each session, once you've played your first you kind of slot into a cycle and games seem to get going with less wait time.
Pay model: - IF you are prepared to put some money into this game, you can outclass players of the same level (or even higher levelled players). Occasionally (albeit rarely in my experience) you come up against teams of people who seem to be "shopped", and who work as a team, and they will wipe the floor with your disorganised team. I can't speak for the top division, but otherwise you usually can still be competitive without spending money on the game (From experience).
Random bouts of lag: - I've not figured out yet if this is just me to be honest, but thought it should be mentioned.
Depending on how you view it, the gameplay / graphics can be a flaw. If graphics are super important for you to enjoy a game, then don't bother. Otherwise, after getting used to the controls and the clunkyness of the gameplay, it's actually more fun than frustrating and surprisingly, doesn't tend to get repetetive (other than perhaps, if you want to be a team player always seeming to be the de facto sweeper as more often than not, noone wants the job).
On the upside about this game;
The community: - it's pretty small, server population never in my experience exceeds "medium", whatever that is. This does however, mean that when you are playing you recognise people (which can go either way) but you can at least know what to expect. If you manage to get in playing with a good group of people (not neccessarily good skillwise, just who enjoy it and try to do the right things) it can be great fun. Unfortunately at the lower levels, this is more rare. Sometimes people will contact you to try and get you in a team with them if they decide you're less stupid than the majority of the playerbase.
There is actually a bit of depth and customisation to the game, briefly; fame points , equipment, active skills, passive skills, appearance (in so much as clothing) and the open world is kinda nice.
When you get used to it the gameplay is, believe it or not, enjoyable and the clunky nature of it almost endearing making it more satisfying when you pull something off.
Additionally, as you progress through the divisions, you can play 5 a side, 7 a side and then 11 a side. Which is probably sensible teamwork wise.
The game is far from perfect, and positives are probably outweighed by the negatives but if you get into it, it's a lot of fun and I would reccommend it.
