I would like to write about this game since I looked the Divinity series with big contempt and this was a shame. The reason was that they always called Divinity an Action, Diablo-Clone RPG and I am a more traditional RPG fun. No matter whatever are the superficial similarities between them, Divinity is very different than Diablo. It is more like an old school RPG, with action gameplay.
The Rivellon lore is quite generic, but the stories and the quests are interesting and unique. A better comparison of the game would be the Gothic series. This means no hand-holders in the quests, Few quest marks, and solving quests through reading books and thinking. There is also a lot of exploration and a lot of hidden things in the game. But let's be more Concrete
Story: At first sight it looks like an effort to cash in the fantasy fans love for dragons. This was also another reason for my initial contempt. Even if this is truth, the Rivellon world is full of shady characters and violence which exists beneath the surface of a fairy-tale-like fantasy. Even if the creatures living in Rivellon are quite generic, nevertheless their actions aren't. The plot can get boring sometimes, but it get's really good after the Hero goes to Aleroth, which is full of interesting quests and a lot of funny characters. For this reason STORY 7/10.
Gameplay: The game has aged a bit and it is obvious. There are some game bugs but they are not gamebreaking, Using the Dragon can also get cumbersome sometime. Riddles can get annoyingly difficult sometimes. but usually in the side quests. There are interesting and immersive battles and a nice addition of a baldur's gate like pause system. Companions AI is cute, but not fantastic. For this reason GAMEPLAY 8/10 (or 9 if you are lenient because of the age of the game)
MUSIC: 10/10(whoever is involved with the Divinity series knows why
VALUE FOR MONEY(I bought this extremely cheap because I liked the Divinity Original Sin in an Anthology offer): 20/10
GRAPHICS: OLD BUT CUTE 8/10
IS IT FUN? HELL YES. OVERALL: 8/10. An well above the average RPG with it's own personality and being able, despite the flaws to keep friends of the genre entertained for about 100 hours.
