This review contains SPOILERS.
Please bear in mind, the following is my opinion alone. You may disagree with my opinion.
This review is for Part One, Ego Draconis.
Divinity II: Developer's Cut is a brilliant game, possibly (with the exception of Skyrim) the best.
Firstly, you have all the classic RPG elements - goblins, evil necromancers, legends and prophecies and stuff, and of course female armour which seems to protect you more the less of it there is. That makes perfect sense, right...?
There's a plot twist early on in the game in which you become a Dragon Knight - a Dragon Slayer blessed with increased power who can turn into a dragon by using the Dragon Stone.
A fecking DRAGON. That fact alone makes the game amazing.
You select a class at the beginning, but you can eventually sort of make your own as the game progresses - you're not entirely stuck into one class like Mage or Necromancer or Warrior or Archer, you can morph them into something new. I call mine a Battle Mage - A Mage/Necromancer who has some Warrior skills.
Of course, as with every game, there are cons. The level design for Sentinel Island is simply appalling - it takes twenty million years to get anywhere and once you get there you have to engage in a short conversation and then travel for another twenty million years to go and have another short conversation and then you travel for another twenty million years to get to the bloody totem to choose the person you want for a specific role.
You have to do that four times.
The switching between Dragon and Human could also be a bit smoother, and so could the movement when you are a Dragon.
There's also the problem with the female armour.
Graphics - 6/10
Gameplay - 8/10
Story Originality - 3/10
The Actual Story - 6/10
Value for Money - 5/10 - Should be more like £10.99 not £12.99
Replayability - 5/10 - You can re-play the game with different classes but eventually it will get boring
Length - 6/10 - I haven't yet finished my current game and I have spent about 6 hours on it
Extra Special Feature - You can become a dragon. Need I say more?
My Final Rating:
