What does this do, and what's the point?

While building my little base as Willow for the first time, I found something called "Maxwell's Door". It says something about surviving 5 different worlds or something but, what do you get out of it? I went in but it gave me this Divining Rod and THAT took me to some random objects lying on the ground...

it is called adventure mode. too much to explain in a little thread. you should look it up on their website or the wiki.

Welcome to Adventure Mode... it is NOT easy! Use the Wiki, you can mentally prepare yourself for the different levels. There are six different world types but they appear in different orders for everyone. GOOD LUCK!

As for the point, it's got some story elements waiting for you at the end. Aside from that, it's just an extra challenge!

Since your posting here, I don't think you care about spoilers, so I'll add this factoid. If you enter the door, and die in the adventure mode/world, you come back out of Maxwells door. So don't be shy about adventuring forth.

The Adventure Mode is challenging,I had died so many times,each world need a different method,you need to prepare a lot.

I got to World Five and died, I was livid for a while.

Long story short, you'll have five chjapters and a 'conclusion" to overcome starting there with nothing and only able to take four items from chapter to chapter. You thought regular mode was hard...welcome to adventure! Did i mention if you die you start outside and lose all progress? (But hey you still live in your original world and can try again right?)
