Munkey's Field Notes.
If you'd like me to research something or give some tips and hints etc just say and I'll try my best.

So i thought this would be a good thing to do publicly considering i was doing it anyway,I'll be updating this with some hints, tips, notes and research :) so be sure to check this,I'm currently researching the "Invasive Lureplant" :)

The "Invasive LurePlant"

My current research leads me to believe the LurePlant takes 2-3days to grow,on the 2nd-3rd day roots grow and Eyeplants start to sprout,(caution they bite) despite their appearance these Eyeplants are quite deadly.

It seems when the Lureplant eats enough morsels the "leafy" meat becomes a morsel,I need to further research this so I can see if you get a extra morsel for the dangling one or not.

I did some accidental research,i went off to go mine some rocks not far away in the morning
by the time i came back in the middle of my base a lureplant had grown, but the weirdest part is it was fully grown roots and eyes...

When dealing with spiders you have to be very careful especially with tier 2 and higher nests,if you can manage to destroy a tier 3 spider nest it should drop a spider egg, which allows you to place a new nest where-ever you please, this is where my tip comes in.
Before placing your new nest make a ton of traps (the sort you catch rabbits in) and place them in a wall sort of shape (works well against edges of maps other whys make a square)
then in the middle place your new nest, lure the spiders out of the den by standing on the edges of the webbed floor, then run off,the spiders should fall into the traps them same way a rabbit does and then just like a rabbit you can pick up the trap, you do NOT get a spider, you get one of the drops, making this a easy safer way to get monstermeat, spider glands and silk.

Beefalo in heat attack and destroy spider dens.
(Tip by J20Hawkz)

No such thing as bad meat!

This tip will be helpful for players who have experience and people who are relativley new to the world of Dont Starve.

More meat than you can eat? Going stale? maybe you even have monster meat...after all no one wants to eat that...
Well now you can stop wasting all that meat,I know a few people who will happily eat it AND give you something in return.
Birds,simply caged birds.
Feed your stale meat or monster meat (Monster meat must be cooked) you can even give it certain crock pot meat recipes, anyway you feed the meat item of your choice and seconds later a egg will pop out of the cage.
Simple cook your eggs and eat them as needed, best bit is you should be able to feed your cooked eggs back to the bird and you will get a brand new uncooked eggs.
And as monster meat is easy-ish to come by you should have plenty of eggs in the winter just from monster meat.
And there you have it edible food from disgusting inedible food.

(be sure to make this away from fire hazards this includes panic rooms[due to fire-hounds])
When you have big bosses do you wish you had something to kill them in 1 shot?
Well here is a fairly easy to build trap, now you will need some type of wall (I personally used stone because you'll get it all back later) now you will want to build a fairly small square i think 6 walls on each side should be big enough(leave 1 or 2 gaps in the wall),next you will want to make some gunpowder you will need 10+,fill your square with gunpowder (make sure to place it close to each other) but leave space around it,now fill the entire square with grass or twigs and then lead the grass or twig trail out of one of the holes in the wall and trail it round the whole structure now you MUST put a lightning rod near by,other whys you will find your trap exploded one rainy day ;).
And there you have it your trap is set,now do i hear you ask what sort of boss is ideal?
None other then the Deerclops, simply lead him into the middle set the fuse of grass or twigs on fire then get to a moderate distance (but still in his target range) and run circles around the trap that way he will stay in the middle,in a few seconds BOOM!!!!!!!!! he is dead, and you should have plenty of cooked meat from him,but no eye unfortunately.

Should look something like this (but better this is just a basic model to show you)

Updated a bit,feedback would be great :)

Its good. But I'm not sure the trap idea is the best. Its heavy on resources if your going to be catching so many spiders. I recommend using a few pigs or the best is to actually build a spider nest near some beefalo. That way you will have alot of meat lying around, as beefalo dont eat meat, and you will save resources. I currently have 20-30 beefalo, so one spider nest wont be much of a problem for them :)

Well, you could always make a few tooth traps, then when you see the beefalo/s place them really close to each other, punch the beefalo and lead it into the traps, then you can just run off if the other beefalos get agro'd, and come back in a minute or two and get your stuff :).

Added a new tip about Eggs!
J20Hawkz Jun 17, 2013 @ 12:32pm
I never had eggs before. But this is good to know in the future. I guess I'll be making eggs for Wolfgang :)

Updated a bit on the Lureplant section.

Any idea how long an enemy stays frozen for?
Munkeyman100 Jun 17, 2013 @ 5:02pm
I think it depends on the enemy treeguards seem to stay frozen forever, whilst other things "come back to life" after a hit :) I know it's not very long on most creatures

you have part of your lureplant notes at the bottom of the spider notes (if that was intentional ignore that lol )

It wasn't intentional :) I just haven't got round to changing it yet :)
