The plant eventually digests whatever it ate. But I don't think it actually goes through the spoiling system.

I would do this since the palnt digest stuff reeeeealy fast (i feed it a McTusk and it ate the blowgun shortly after this i killed it and only got the meat it had on its lure)

Also, can you stop them spawning with any flooring or biome?

As far as my research (and the research of most Klei Forum members) goes i have discoverd that webbed ground (around spider dens) stops eyeplant spawns. That means eyeplants cant spawn on it and when you plant a lureplant on it it wont spawn eyeplants (even when its lure is out)

I'd personally rather deal with lureplants and the accompanying eyeplants than spider nests. It's easy enough to clear a path to the center to kill it and replant it somewhere where it won't be in the way, and maybe even in an advantageous place to fights hounds for you.

A future update will make it so that they cannot spread to man-made tiling(carpet, cobblestone, checkerboard, wooden flooring) and rock. But as for now, no.
