But, in seriousness, it is a different experience than taking a walk outside. There is a "soundtrack" that progresses as you walk through different things, the visuals are colorful, and Proteus is not really meant to look like real life. But, if you would rather take a walk then do so.
Why the hell would you turn off the sound, though? That's like saying turning the sound down when you listen to music makes the music worthless. Well, duh!
In gaming that is very very uncommon. Even games that let you free will hand you hooks to get you back into the story. Here, what hooks? what story? You are on vacation dude for the nexte 45 minutes just walk around, or not.. and relax.
I'll never understand how people that use blatant stereotypes don't understand how ignorant it makes them look.
