I wish this was so much more... :(
I wish This had more of a point to it. Its cool But I wouldn't really call this a game... Not until its actually "Finished" even though it already is. So I'm saying I need a real objective. Not just sit around and listen to the enviroment. I'd rather go outside and go camping for that. For now PROTEUS is pretty much a "base" for something so much greater...

I don't know. Have you tried playing the game with a headset? It's best to go into the game without a sense of purpose... well, beyond exploration. Look for beautiful sights. Take screenshots. Enjoy the atmosphere.

I'll admit, I didn't really like it too much at first, but it grew on me. It put me into a sort of trance, and I became fully immersed.

I wish I could choose more types of islands.. Choose your season etc. And I miss a lot of sounds. Sea waves, thunder and lighting, the wind etc.

I agree that I feel like there can be more to this game. However, I'm glad that I feel that way. My favorite games give me that feeling of potential, of 'so much more.' I felt the same way about LIMBO.
Here's an idea: an Online MMO proteus, where you can explore with friends, or even just lift the online co-op style from 'journey.'

Well I mean there needs to be more of a point than just walking around trying to find something that you didnt expect or just sitting in awe. I need some sort of rank or something that tells me i'm getting somewhere. or I need to visit somewhere for a reaction and then go to the next place. Collect things and trade them for more things or just something... Something that would really fit where it would be defineable and actually give people a reason to come back for more...

I mean one way to put it is that it could be much like minecraft but... I'd really like it but what I'd actually like if it was realtime and the enviroment around you would do things and not try to kill you. Yet Build/Create whatever you desire. No blocks. But easy sandbox building with images you load in to make your own textures. and use those as your building blocks and adjust wherever you want it.

All i'm asking is for more interactiveness and the Concept I just put up there would be a great Idea.

Those sentences honestly describe most of the things I hate about gaming recently. People keep looking for carrots in gaming, and don't actually play it just to have fun anymore. They blast through interesting places just to get the achievement, or do things they don't enjoy just to get the next rank. It’s a shame really, and I miss the days before there were wiki's to answer every question, points added to every task, and unlocks for each piece of content.

If a game is fun and interesting, it should come from the playing of the game and not the arbitrary reward at the end. I've played Left4Dead and Killing Floor for hundreds of hours and never got bored, nor have I ever looked at the achievements. I just genuinely have fun playing the game, checking out different strategies or areas, or messing around with the AI.

Now - that's not to say that Proteus shouldn't have more content. I'm just saying that adding things like levels, perks, achievements, or items is not a solution in my opinion.

You know, as I was noticing that it's spring outside now, I wished that Proteus would feature a winter to spring transition.

Bought this game like 30 mins ago and after 20 mins I came to check out what people had to say about it. I wish I had before purchase... This game has super annoying sound and feels absolutely pointless. If you want beauty and mystery try 'Dear Esther'. What a waste of time and dollars.

I loved the game my first few times playing, but you're right, it needs more, this "game" has tons of potential.
