This game looks like it was created in Paint...
Graphics look like something my small child did with Paint the other day. The audio sounds good, but my god the graphics are a bit simplistic. Is there anything to this besides running around listening to the music? Any story, plot, or interaction with anything?

heres the deal, this guy is smarter than me because he didnt buy it!!! i bought it and now i can't get a refund. this should have been a freeware tech demo, but steam will market a steaming pile of crap if they think they can use it to steal some money

Holy ♥♥♥♥ are you really so bitter? The game is described very well on the store page. I don't know what you thought you were getting but I think it delivers on all promises made.

Have you ever bought a game you didn't like before on Steam? Do you normally get a refund?

I'm very proud of your child who can make professional sprites at their age. That will save them a lot of money for art school. They should apply for work.

Lots of games have deliberately child-like aesthetics. It works rather well in Proteus, and for me taps into much of the theme of the game and the joy I get from it.

There isn't much in the way of "story, plot, interaction or anything". Some animals and events respond to your presence, you can control the progression of time, and there are allusions to history and mystique on the island. But this is not a linear game designed to be played start to finish with a clear-cut narrative. "Running around listening to music" is the core part of the game, though I'd replace "running" with "walking in gape-jawed wonder" and "listening" with "generating and controlling to your heart's desire" ;)

I don't think videos do it justice, but you likely know best yourself if this is the sort of game you would like. If you do buy it then be sure to drop any preconceptions about what a game should or shouldn't be.

The graphics are amazing, simply because they simplistic doesn't mean they aren't beautiful.
But I find it stupid you don't even have the game. You are on a thread discussing the game, the general expectation is you have the game.

I like to evaluate my purchase through a combination of reviews, youtube videos, and user opinion before I even think about purchasing a game. I also never pre-order. I been burned before on pre-orders and games that promise the moon but never deliver or have ♥♥♥♥ releases *cough*swordofthestars2*cough*. I do this because I like to make an informed purchase instead of being all like, "oh purrrtyy it shiny! Me buy nao!". This is obviously my right as a consumer.

That's funny considering that on your first post you mock the game for not being purrty and shiny.

Though I agree that the "buy nao and see for yourself" attitude is nonsense. If you try and fnd out you don't like the game, there's not much you can do about it (posting on the forums just gets you labeled as a troll). That said, the game's description seems to be pretty honest about the game. I've wondered about buying this one myself, but based on the description I'll wait for a sale.

Based on the content and tone of his posts I would say that Elazul is the type of person who would not be able to appreciate a game like this.
