So Soothing
I wouldn't say that this was a game, it's more of how I imagined things would be if we could walk into a digital realm when I was a kid. everything is new and exciting and nothing could hurt you. it's so relaxing and inspiring. to think that a premise that is so simple could allow for so much possibility is awe inspiring to say the least. I wouldn't reccomend it to those who feel that imagination must be led. instead I would reccomend it to those who can see further than the realms of their own minds.

Just played through my island, and feel completely refreshed. Was not expecting the final stage... Though, the most peaceful moment I found was in Autumn at Night & Off the Coast in the middle of the quiet sea. Lucky I made a postcard there, so I can always take 5, & relax in the flood of sounds.

Does it need a "score"? Something like this, is to be lived. It just is. I wouldn't personally give it a score, because you'll get the same response as you are getting here by absolute ♥♥♥♥♥s, who have yet to play & are ranting, because picking on something (bullying), is easier than sticking up for it... And the other half who bought the game, because they can, because they are not sure what money is, even though all media for the game is spelt out. All previews (easily found) tell what it is, exactly. It's the same instance when Journalists preview a game afew months before release and say "Oh, This is excellent, but if they were to change afew things around, THIS would be the best game of ALL TIME"... But, realistically, usually, the changes said, would probably take the company, months of backtrack. So when the Media has already hyped up an audience, to later say it's ♥♥♥♥. Who to blame. Blame the game! Of course! That's the most right decision!!!... (no)
Maybe through this relentless day and age, where we are constantly forced crap, either monitor or tv or outside. Some can't seem to make there own mind up for themselves. They have to follow. Take sides. Hmmmm...

Anyway, don't score it. Say what you think. Write what others experienced. Visualise the moment when you thought... Yeah! (in a positive way). Let people choose (if they so wish).

Anyway, Yeah...

See that's the problem, I wouldn't know what to give it and how to create an article that would justify one. You are right though perhaps just an explanation of the game would suffice this time

Force other games into it like, "a happy & wondrous" version of Dear Esther. Or sounds like, maybe the Fez soundtrack... well particularly Reflection - when dear Gomez leaves home for the first time, this http://disasterpeace.com/track/reflection piece is played, and is never played again. Like progression. In that game you were free to go where ever you like. So be it small. The progression in Proteus, is subtle. The ever-changing seasons. From new beginings to the Dark of Death, and arriving home to rest...

I know it's amazing how something so simple can be so endearing :)

Finally a game to relax too after a hard day's work. I love it.

hmm, i haven't found it particularly soothing really. the "music" which is really the main draw of the game, is horrible. it's too high pitched, especially the chickens and frogs screeching in your face. definitely improves as time goes on though... i wonder how people would feel playing without sound.

I just tried it with the music off and it still made all the sound effects of frogs jumping &c. I thought it was pretty engaging and gave life to my interactions with the environment that could get swept up into the music. That's what I think you would lose out on the most, the relationship between your movement and the things around you. But it would be neat to hear about someone's experience without the sound.
