[SPOILERS] About the ending
This is quite a nice game, unusual, good to buy on sale, but obviously not for everyone since the "objectives" and event triggers are not specified in an obvious way to the player. Now, after changing seasons a few times by finding the large circles of fireflies during the night I entered a wintry landscape with barren trees and after some time suddenly started flying over the landscape, progressively rising higher and higher until the protagonist's eyes closed and the game ended. Did anyone else encounter this as an ending to the game or is this some glitch in the game (as I first thought when I could not make the character walk on the ground anymore)? Are there any more endings?

P.S.: Game haters please stay out of this thread, you don't like the game fine, vent your anger elsewhere, this thread is for those who are actually interested in it and want to discuss it in a constructive way.

This is normal. No glitch. Don't know if there are any alternative endings, I suspect probably not.

Thanks for clearing that up :)

So, do you return to the stars? When your eyes close, are you getting ready to wake up from a dream? Or did you just die? Or were you already dead, and was just earthbound for a bit. That is my question.

I think it is supposed to be a dream, with bright colors, fanciful creatures, and musical sounds.

At the end of the year, the world is cold and the animals are asleep, no longer interested in the trees that don’t do anything, then you wake up.

I had to play it through about 3 times before I felt like I found everything, but it is always the same ending.

Fall is my favorite season; I like to visit the statues on top of the mountain at night.

Yeah, fall is awesome and to me it does seem that the protagonist returns to the stars after visiting the world he/she/it created. Who knows, maybe the character is an incarnation of one of the statues on the mountain come to visit the character's realm?

That’s a cool thought.

I intepreted it as dieing. In Fall I saw the man by the statues and then went to the grave yard to see roses on a single grave. I had an eerie feeling it was my grave. Then I floated up in winter and saw 'god', the soundwaves. Then my eyes closed. It was melancholic, but beautiful.

So... you can't explore winter infinitely? Oh well, that's my favourite season... ):

But I'd say it goes like this: you're a living being on the island. You see the seasons pass, more animals joining the bloom of nature. But as the autumn comes, animals begin to die. You see suffering insects lieing on the ground, and trees losing their leaves, snow taking over the hills... the life is disappearing.

Soon you're the only living thing on the island, on a cold winter night, fighting for your life. Soon you feel you can't take it anymore, and, like the other animals and plants, you die, too.

If you make the day longer (in options) you can run around more before “ascending” at sundown.
But it also takes longer for the circle to become active.
