Yes, there is an ending, and you will reach it if you change seasons. It's pretty great.

I know it's a bit late, but it doesn't seem like anyone clearly answered nor understood XD

The game ends when you find yourself floating in the sky (from what I've seen myself and read so far). Starting a new game, you will get pretty much the same gameplay, but a randomly generated world. Each island will be unique yet familiar

The only point of playing again is to find any cool secrets you may have missed, or try to explore as much as you can and find more variety of events you didn't get a chance to experience the first time on a different island.

It "ends," but I honestly think it's a lame ending. It sort of just stops. You can keep replaying, and I find it to be worth it. The game is relaxing and there are little easter eggs and crap everywhere (I'll go into the guides and find things I've never seen, and I'll see things I've never seen in the guides or discussions).

So, worth a replay, but it helps if you like the game for the relaxing atmosphere.
