Winning streak achievement bug?
I won 3 games in a row against 3 different people and never received my achievement. I barely ever win, so I was very excited about this, but then disappointed to find out that I didn't receive the achievement for it. A friend of mine also won about 4 or 5 games in a row and never received it either. Just wondering how many others have had this issue as well and if it has been or will be fixed?

Hello Justice Pirate. The win-streak and the respective achievement counts ONLY for Ranked (or Tournament) matches, NOT Quick (or Friendly) ones.

This is not a bug, but I agree that it can be confusing. About 3-4 months ago, there was no distinction between Ranked/Quick, so every match your played practically counted as a Ranked one, affecting your ranking and all the related achievements. Back then, Ranked matches were allowed at all team-power levels too, i.e. not just 6 & 12.

The reason behind Ranked matches is that (provided the playerbase is large enough), every player can fight opponents close to their own skill, thus making every battle a 50/50 win/lose. Unfortunately, due to the small number of players, it's difficult to find someone close to your skill each time you login, so most people prefer Quick matches, that only take team-power into account (and not ranking, i.e. skill & experience). This practically restricts them from getting some achievments, namely win-streaks & ranking ones.

Ah. I see. Thanks so much. I was confused because it said I had 1 win left until I received my 3 in-a-row win achievement. . .

Hmm... I am pretty sure that the win-streaks WERE only for Ranked matches, at least the in-game ones. Not sure if they changed it somehow, so that the STEAM achievements (and not the in-game ones, i.e. in the Hall-of-Valor) take into account the Quick-matches too.

I barely play Ranked nowadays (only once a week or so), and I'm miles away from getting close to breaking my streak (~15, from the old-days when everything counted as Ranked), so I am practically unable to cross-check this...

But one thing stands true: The +1 Renown bonus after a battle is only given for consecutive Ranked-Match wins.

I noticed that my ELO rating stopped going up recently too, so I suppose that also has to do with ranked play.

If you refer to your your ELO rating as it appears in the STEAM achievements, then that's normal. That rating is actually the highest ELO you managed to get, not your current ELO.

Your current ELO can be checked in-game (at the Hall of Valor, Strand building) and should change depending on your victories or defeats (increasing or decreasing, respectively) in Ranked & Tourney matches only. Quick & Friendly matches do not change your ELO.
