Linux version(s)?

I found this game through an earlier announcement that said Banner Saga will be released for Linux, in addition to Windows and Mac. Is Factions also going to have a Linux version? And are you still planning to release a Linux version for the single player? I'd buy it in a heartbeat if so!

Sry, bro! I am not too sure if there will be one! I hope so, since I am a linux user as well. However, I know the dev team is really busy with working on the single player, so even if there is one, probably not anytime soon

From memory (don't take it for true at all) I think Stoic said that they would work the Linux version after they release The Banner Saga.

That's about right. Saga will be priority to port first though. Then Factions after. And this all generally depends on Saga Chapter 1 doing well enough :)

No, it was clarified in a project update that Factions was not going to be ported to Linux.

"Will Factions be ported to Linux /iOS /console?

No, we don’t intend to put Factions on anything but PC and Mac. Now that it’s out, we’re moving on to the rest of the single player campaign and cannot afford to spend weeks or months porting the multiplayer standalone. Our stretch goals applied only to the single player game."

The single-player campaign looks really nice, and I'm sure that the majority of Linux backers will be very pleased indeed! ^_^

Unfortunately, I'm in the camp of those who were really excited about a tactical multi-player experience. You win some, you lose some :-)

well, we could ask them to officially support WINE. They could be the first games company to do that!

It's not like it would be a great hardship for them, seeing as they wouldn't have to do anything.
