We've had that bug crop up maybe 4 times in the last year, which makes it rather difficult to track!

It's like when a bird poos on you. Consider yourself lucky :)

:D would a save file help?
cprince  [developer] Sep 30, 2013 @ 3:25am
Probably not - it's the "how you got stuck there in the first place" we need to have and the save file unfortunately doesn't quite have that information.

I've seen a few weird things -- ghost droids staying on the screen after you start a new game, etc. -- and will get whatever information I can. Where's the best place to report bugs?

support at puppygames dot net. The ghost droids thing is the result of a savegame restore failing (generally only happens after we update the game though) - don't worry about that; it goes after a restart.

... occurs to me that your main problem may be related.

For me the 'out of map' bug happens every time I dive into DA for a session of over an hour.

Just happened to me.

As I wrote before I lost all my saved progress recently and had to start over from LVL 1. The ghost droid bug happened to me anyway.

Alli thinks he's found what caused it - we'll see if this bug survives the next patch! (Due out in 6 days!)

I wish there was an option to have part of your time left as reserves. There are levels like ~34 where you start in a small room with your entire team, doomed to be wiped out. The bug has let me to preserve a healthy 'rocketeer' at least twice :) Isn't it +1 to how retro DA is, BTW? :)

I've been trying to figure out different ways of handling the team for a while now. We could make it so that, for example, transfer-out is permanent; you cannot transfer back to a bot once you've left it, except on death. That would change the dynamics massively.
BlaXpirit Dec 14, 2013 @ 2:16am
Right now transferring is almost always just pointless. This change would make it a very bad thing to do.
Might as well make droids die on transfer out.

How would the transfer-out work? Would a player get the transfer points back? If so, what if player has a full jack of TPs already?

The real problem is that people are getting really attached to their droids, when in reality, they're just expendable extra lives. I see the same complaints over and over again -

"My droids just die because they're feeble/stupid/surrounded by enemies/wander into a firefight and die"

and

"I want to keep one droid alive for ages and ages and buff it to the max but when it wears out I cry"

So I'm trying to figure out ways of dealing with them. I don't think it's possible given the way the game is though. It's just not that sort of game.

We are, on the other hand, doing some very interesting experiments with 2-player co-op hotseat play. And that might potentially turn into even more interesting gameplay if it were versus...
